Whispering Pines in the Country on 40 Acres

Whispering Pines is an exclusive guest house nestled back in the country. The home is a newly constructed with finish out being completed April 2019. This 3 bedroom, 2 full bath home has more than 40 acres of woods and trails to explore. You and your guest will have the whole home and 40 acres to yourself for a unique stay.

The space
Whispering Pines home is quietly located with just one home further down the road.

Living Room: This large room features a 55" wall mounted TV, two comfy La-Z-Boy recliners and a couch. TV channels include ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, LAFF, GRIT, CBN NEWS, MY-TV, ESCAPE, BOUNCE, ME-TV, CW, MOVIES and ION TV.

Dining Room: Oval table with optional popup leaf. There are 4 chairs at the table and an additional 4 chairs in the front entry closet. Kitchen: We have provided the essentials including 8 piece serving set of dishes and glasses, silverware, electric range, microwave Keurig for coffee and dishwasher. There is also a waffle maker, toaster, food processor, and electric hand mixer. Several stainless steel pots along with non-stick skillet, baking dishes include loaf pans, 9x13 pans, pie pans and cookie sheet. If there is something specific that you require, let us know and we will try to accommodate.

Master Bedroom sports a KING bed with 4 pillows and chest. Private access to master bath which has 2 sinks, shower and toilet, chair and walk in closet. Expect wrinkles with all of our bedding as we all have them.

Guest Bedroom #1 has a antique full size bed with 2 pillows and chest. Bathroom is in the hall. Expect wrinkles with all of our bedding as we all have them.

Guest bedroom #2 is queen size bed with 2 pillows and chest. Bathroom is in the hall. Expect wrinkles with all of our bedding as we all have them.

Guest bathroom has hall access to both guest bedrooms. A single sink, toilet and shower/tub has all the necessities.

Laundry: We have provided a large capacity 5.3 cubic foot washer and dryer for your full load "get it done" laundry option.

Porches: Of course. The front porch has a pair of chairs. The back porch has a pair of chairs, a bench along with the country bell. You control the exterior lighting with options for 4 corner spot lighting to avoid the bugs on the porch.

The 40 acres. We love the idea of being on a 40 acre plot with trails extending more than 1/2 mile and access to gravel bar fishing at the Gasconade River. You can find various wildlife and plants that can make you smile. We have marked the 3 trails and provided the maps for each. "Deer Alley Trail" provides a short walk that is relatively flat and gives you a view to the open field where deer feed frequently. "Big Spring Trail" is for the hiker and includes a nice climb back up the hill after arriving at the Big Spring. The Big Spring is primarily a wet weather spring but does have a small trickle in the summer. If you complete the Big Spring Trail, your almost to the "Gasconade River Trail". At the river bank is a steep incline providing you access to fish the Gasconade River from the gravel bar. You can also go wading. There is no boat access from our property but if you are interested, there is public access just a few miles away.

NOTE: The house is newly built in 2019. As a result, the exterior yard is muddy at times until the lawn thickens up. The entry to the home is dry, graveled, raised up and without mud.

Guest access
As a guest to Whispering Pines, you will have full and exclusive access to the home along with trails to explore in the 40 acres of woods.

Other things to note
The house is nearly a 1/4 mile from the entry gate.

Great stay
We stayed at the house for 3 nights and was the perfect setting for us. That house was our home base for going out and visiting local museums in Missouri and Kansas. We walked down the nice trails down to the river and enjoyed seeing a lot of wild life. Our stay was relaxing and very peaceful. Andy was a great host and answered any questions we had in a timely manner. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Beyond expectations
When you stay at Whispering Pines, expect clean spotless lodgings and seclusion. We saw the deer that roam the property daily—if not from the kitchen window, then on our way in or out of the property. We enjoyed hiking right on the property down to the Gasconade River several times. (Prepare for a workout on the way back to the cabin.) Full-size good quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided in both bathrooms. K-cups were complimentary and in ample supply. Beds were comfortable and clean. Internet access was reliable. Andy was fantastic and very very helpful when needed. We recommend Whispering Pines for anyone who values quiet and seclusion or just needs respite from dealing with other people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful retreat
We enjoyed our stay! The house was comfortable, spotless and well stocked. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch surrounded by the nearby woods. So quiet and peaceful. We appreciated walking on the road and would have hiked the trails if we had more time. There was a put in on the Gasconade river a short drive away - beautiful float trip and good fishing. If we return to this area, we will definitely hope to stay here again.

Perfect Pandemic Escape
My wife and I were looking for a perfect place to get away from the noise and pressure of our altered reality in this pandemic. What drew us to this “cabin in the woods” was the wooded driveway in the photo of the listing as well as the high rating for cleanliness and peace and quiet. It did not disappoint! Situated in a beautiful peaceful setting surrounded by forest, this home was the cleanest we have rented by far. At night there is absolute quiet and no lights outside unless you want them. We enjoyed walking in the surrounding woods and on a rainy day we drove a half hour to visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum and the home where she wrote the “Little House” books. A delightful afternoon. Lots to see with the museum and two house tours. One could easily spend half a day there. Lunch at a small diner 18 minutes away in nearby Hartville was another fun outing. Check in and out were hassle free. Walking in the house, it still had that “recently built” clean smell. It was a perfect pandemic escape!

The perfect place for quiet reflection
This is a beautiful, clean, comfortable property, set apart from the craziness of the world; tucked away into a idyllic, scenic woodland setting where there are no sounds other than that of nature and our own voices when we so chose to talk and laugh. Much of our time was spent on the back porch (though we also enjoyed the front porch), sitting in quiet reflection, taking in the silence and the beauty of nature, watching and photographing the deer and wide variety birds, turtles, and other natural inhabitants. We enjoyed not hearing ANY other sounds (no sirens, no neighbors, no dogs barking, etc. - wonderful!). It was a complete and perfect break from our reality back home. The house is pristinely clean and yet instantly comfortable to settle into; everything about it is wonderful! The king bed was spacious and comfortable, we enjoyed using the grill, the kitchen is well stocked, and the recliners in the living room were a welcome respite after a long day. We made this our base point for our Ozark travels; the Branson area (though not our thing) is a scenic 1 1/2 hour drive to the west where we spent an enjoyable couple of hours at Bear Creek Wine Co. (beautiful location); we also enjoyed a scenic drive in the opposite eastward direction to Alley Spring & Mill and Viandel Vineyard, and of course an amazing visit to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum/Rocky Ridge Farm, in Mansfield (only a short 30 minute drive), fulfilled a lifelong dream and was well worth the visit. We highly recommend this home to anyone seeking a comfortable, beautiful place where you can reconnect to one another or to oneself.

Getting away from it ALL
If you are looking for a great place to get away from everything, this is it. Beautiful house, set on 40 acres with trails. Nothing but the sound of the wind blowing through the trees. No neighbors, no traffic, just peace and quite. If you are looking for a place which has wi-fi, cell service (especially with AT&T) or tons of attractions at your finger tips, this is NOT it. But if you are wanting to get away from everything, un-connect, this IS IT. We loved the place. Andy, the owner is great and we will definitely be back!!!!!!!

This was the perfect place for us - quiet and secluded! The house is GREAT - there are no photos of the master suite with the listing which there really should be - it's very nice. Everything is new and clean! Spacious, nice kitchen. We were a bit late getting in and Andy was very accommodating, meeting us up the road so we could follow him down to the house. He bleached all the door handles before we arrived and brought us some hand sanitizer to keep on the table. Will absolutely be back the next time we're looking for a quiet weekend in the country!

Great secluded area north of Hartville
This place was a quiet and secluded getaway spot for couples to go to. Deep in the woods with wildlife and trails to hike. Easy walk to the Gasconade river. Very clean and nice facility. There is a nice little Amish lunch and dinner spot around the corner about 15-20 minutes away called R&M Dutch cooking. I would come back!
