"The property itself was ok but it is joined to a building site and all you hear is stihl saws loud music and shouting and swearing from the builders. The 9 pm noise curfew is a joke, bangra until the early hours. Stay Angels were no help at the point of complaint, nothing we can do was their mantra."

"The room was comfortable - good beds,super biscuits and selection of teas,coffee and hot chocolate.Food in the inn superb and staff friendly and helpful-especially liked Robert the morning chap ! Location was great we visited most of the hope valley by bus plus the village has lots of cafes etc."

"A wonderful property, spacious, clean, convenient. Two bedrooms with 2 twin beds, two bed rooms with Queen beds makes ample room for large familes or friends. A well equipped kitchen. The Nisa and fruit/veg stand nearby have everything one needs. Would recommend for a Peak District getaway."
"Our stay was nothing short of excellent. It was an amazing location, very handy for all the walks you could possibly want to do.
The staff are incredible - they love dogs which was always a bonus - Rolo loved them! They were friendly and gave such amazing service - the female manager was so great.
The breakfast was so nice - lovely bacon and sausages and the burgers and cakes in the glass cabinet were incredible!

"Excellent service as soon as I arrived at The Barrel Inn. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly and extremely helpful. From check in, breakfast, bar staff and waiting on. Food was wonderful. Apart from the above what most impressed was when I was out for a walk, Oliver contacted me to see if myself and my husband needed a reservation for that evening. Above and beyond as far as I'm concerned, looking after their residents. As I know from the evening before the pub would have been extremely busy. Well done The Barrel Inn. "
