"Bonaire We loved our 8-day vacation in Bonaire at the Grand Windsock. We stayed in a beautiful, well-equipped 2-bedroom, 2-bath villa with private pool. The villa was next to the airport so we certainly were aware of planes taking off and landing (and the occasional slight whiff of jet fuel) but there are not many flights in and out of the island each day so we had no issue with it. We actually enjoyed seeing the planes coming and going. Our villa was clean and comfortable with a lovely in-ground pool and full-sized fridge with water and ice maker being two of our favourite features. Unlike what we read on this site and heard from the Grand Windsock itself our second bedroom was unlocked - very convenient for a place to stow extra luggage and set up a place to pack when we sadly needed to return home. It seems like a small thing for the resort to leave it unlocked but we certainly appreciated it and seeing it left open on our arrival made us feel valued and welcome. Housekeeping and pool service were as promised once during our stay and left things sparkling clean. Since we had our own pool we only swam in the main pool once but it was very nice too. While staff were kind and friendly, service is “island time” so adjust your expectations here and elsewhere on the island. We walked over to the ocean club most evenings to watch the sunset and also to snorkel a few times. They have quite a few parrotfish that hang out near the stairs but take care when the water is rough s"

"We loved staying here and especially enjoyed proximity to snorkeling which was basically at our doorstep. The accommodations were excellent and included everything we needed. Our hostess Monique was super friendly and was always available while she was on the island. Best VRBO host ever! She made sure we had contact information for the property manager when she wasn't here. We also were really pleased with how close we were to town and restaurants, grocery shopping. It was a nice, quiet location which is our preference since we didn't want to be right in the middle of downtown. We rented a car during our stay and I'm really glad we did. It just made it easier to be very independent and not have to rely on any transportation even though many things like grocery and restaurants were in walking distance. Keep in mind there is only 1 bedroom on the first floor and 3 upstairs. This wasn't a problem for us but you should be aware if you have any mobility issues. The beds were very comfy and so were the lounge chairs outside for sunbathing. We loved the huge patio and location of the outdoor couches and lounge chairs. They were high-end lounge chairs which we appreciated since we spent hours sunbathing each day :). I highly recommend this place and would most definitely return!"

"Everything was great there, the location was right across from the beach where you could go snorkeling and swimming, dive centre, restaurant and car rental all in one place Just take OFF as there are sand flies that bite "

"It was the most beautiful resort that I have ever stayed at. The lazy river and pool were gorgeous and the view... wow!! Very convenient for diving. Dive shop is on the property and lockers were close. Rooms were pretty basic, but clean and comfortable. My only two complaints were that the bath towels were looking a bit worn and rough and our room 2nd floor pool view by dive shop was right in front of the kids slide so it was pretty noisy from 9am - 7pm which cannot be helped. Stay on the South side if you want ocean front views. "
