About this property

Entire place

A converted barn, restored to the highest standards, on the outskirts of Solva, Pembrokeshire.

Sgubor Sgiwiff, originally built in 1859, is a converted barn structure that has been lovingly restored by its owners over recent years, into the stunning cottage that stands today. The name originates from the english translation for a 'Squiff barn' meaning nothing is square or straight, and this only adds to the character and beautiful flow throughout the property. You are immediately met with the perfect contrast between authentic stone walls and modern construction.

This cottage has been immaculately designed to the highest standards, and caters to all types of holiday makers. The downstairs living area, bedrooms and family wet room/family bathroom is ideal for those groups where mobility can be difficult. The property has been designed to showcase the space that flows throughout. Oh, and did we mention it is dog friendly too! The perfect holiday for all!

The open plan living space has a log burner, perfect for cosy evenings with family and friends, after a day of exploring all of the beauty Pembrokeshire has to offer. In the top corner of the lounge, looking out towards the patio area and countryside surroundings, you will find a piano, which fits in perfectly with the feel of the cottage. Off the lounge area, is a wide hallway leading to a double bedroom, twin bedroom and large downstairs family bathroom/wet room. The Owners of this cottage have designed it perfectly to cater for guests who have mobility issues and require the comfort of ground floor accommodation.

Within the lounge area, you are greeted with a set of steps leading upstairs to a mezzanine Master bedroom and en-suite shower room. Within the Master bedroom, there is a double bed, and a sofa bed, if required. The light fittings throughout the property have been specifically designed and procured, to highlight the flow between authentic countryside and new modern design. Lovely spacious converted barn
5 adults and 2 dogs stayed for a week, very comfortable place in a beautiful area close to many beaches, coastal walks and places to eat. The barn has a good kitchen so preparing our own meals was also easy. Good welcome pack on arrival

Great base from which to explore
You definitely need what3words to find it! But loved the fact it's down single track roads with grass growing up the middle - very out of the way. A lovely barn conversion, well equipped apart from a dishwasher, and a thoughtful welcome pack. The twin bedroom did have some unknown bugs (to us) on the bed linen, but this was dealt with swiftly with comforting assurances that this was normal for a natural stone walled home. The ping pong table in the outside building was fun. Plenty of room for parking, behind gates. Wifi password didn't match with guest information, but we figured it out. Overall a comfortable stay that I would be happy to recommend.
