"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge on Bassenthwaite Lake. The lodge was spacious and comfortable---well equipped for everything we needed for our three night stay. It was in a great setting, just yards from the water and very quiet. It was well located for visiting other areas of the Lake District, including restaurants and a distillery close by and the market town of Keswick and Derwentwater about 15 minutes away. We would definitely stay here again on a return trip to the Lake District. "

Close to all our usual haunts in Keswick but the setting makes you feel like you are wonderfully cut off from the world and I mean that in the best possible way. The lodge was super well equipped and the WiFi was better than at home! Tackled a few more Wainwrights while we were there. Would not hesitate to return to the site. The only minor blip was that there were workers fixing the electrics for some time when we arrived...

"It really IS a working farm with real hard working people there who care.Matthew recieved some pygmy goats while we were there and it was fun to see them. The place was thoughtfully decorated and spacious. If you are very tall you need to be carefull here. It is in an old stone structure that has some recent modern upgrades. Very warm and cozy. A 5 minute walk from the front door gets you a million dollar view. TONs of great hiking and mountain biking options nearby. We would gladly stay here...

"Loved the property and location and the owner of the property was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Only problem with the holiday was being able to communicate with the property management company as they could not contact us as they had wrong email information. It did not matter in the end as we spoke to the property owner and he was very helpful and obliging."

"Though we came pretty late to the property, we had staff to take care of our check in etc. And also morning breakfast was very good, and the staff were very nice and friendly. Overnight my friend had to work in lobby area for his work, and staff made sure that he was comfortable there. "

"The Crow Park is in a row of similar hotels and bed & breakfasts. There are stairs to get up to these properties and more stairs to get up to the rooms, but we didn't mind as we had a lovely view out our window from the top of the hotel. Our main issue was that the room was quite warm--lucky us! That meant that we had perfect weather! The front desk provided us with a small fan, which helped! The cooked to order breakfast was delightful, and the hotel was close to the lake and to town--very walkable. We were able to park on the street for free. We loved our stay in Keswick! "

"Very nice hotel, nice and polite owner and staff, quiet location but town walkable distance, breakfast was very good and relaxed house with lounge and fridge, all clean too, enjoyed our stay. Car park was abit tricky too park was only small negative but i do have a large car which doesnt help but apart from this everything else was a very good stay and would return"

"Had such a lovely stay in The Horse & Farrier Inn. Rooms were small but clean and had all the facilites needed. Food at both dinner and breakfast was delicious. Location is great, only a short drive into Keswick, with beautiful views of the mountains. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Will definitely return. "
