"This is a great house in a private, quiet location. The house was exceptionally clean and exactly as listed. We slept in the king bed and found the bed and bedding to be very comfortable which is super important to me when traveling. Hiking,biking and nordic skiing trails are right out your door. If you are looking for a getaway that feels remote but has the convenience of being close to downtown Hayward this is your place. We plan to go back when there is more snow! "

"The cabin was nice, we hoped to fish the lake but after arriving we learned that the lake is drained down 4 feet starting in September (not sure if this is yearly) so we were unable to launch our boat. We did find another lake close by to fish and found some big ones! The cabin had everything we needed to cook meals and kids loved playing with the toys they had."

"This was a lovely stay in a beautiful area. The home was very clean, the beds & pillows comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked with pans, utensils, flatware -- for someone who loves to cook, there was plenty of equipment to produce great meals. The home is located down a long tree-lined driveway, and have the feeling of being alone, even though it's a busy, well-populated area. My husband enjoyed playing horseshoes in the yard every night. "Our group of five Seniors had a wonderful time. We rented both the cabin and the bunkhouse, so that we would have more space. The deck is a great area to socialize, dine, and enjoy the views. We sat on the dock and watched an Eagle “go fishing” for its breakfast. There are basic model kayaks and a canoe. We enjoyed the short drive to nearby hiking trails and Hayward. Patrick, the host, is very quick to respond to phone calls and messages. "

"This was our second time staying here and we will be back! Such an accommodating cabin. The views of the lake are beautiful, so serene and quiet.It’s immaculately, clean and stashed with anything we could possibly need. There are drawers with board games.The sunroom is a perfect spot to play games and read as a family. The basement ping pong table and dart board are an added bonus. Greta is a wonderful host and we can’t wait to be back!"

"Came for a business meeting and needed no frills, so picked the cheapest place I could find. When they handed me a brass key and not a magnetic card, I was a bit worried. Don't let the older style of this building fool you. This had the feel of a 1970s motel but was really clean and comfortable. The room had the 'Northern Woods' decor seen in a lot of places in Hayward, so it was cozy and woodsy. Pretty view of the river and super close to everything. Pleasantly surprised."
