Bedroom: Double (4ft 6in) Bed, Single (2ft 6in) Bed (Child Only) Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Underfloor central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair. Welcome pack. Grounds with garden furniture (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. . Welcome to Owls Roost a beautifully restored one-bedroom barn conversion in the village of Porkellis near Helston and Falmouth. If you are wanting to enjoy wildlife and nature this is the place to come. In the heart of Cornwall’s iconic tin mining area, tucked down a lane surrounded by countryside, you could see local deer and foxes, listen to the resident barn owl and watch the free-range chickens running around.
Closed in 1879, you can see the remains of the engine house nestled amongst the trees and fields. The owner has collected several small antique farm machinery items which are dotted around the property. A reminder of times gone by, it adds character to the origins of the farm.

Owls Roost has been sympathetically restored to provide a large, light bedroom with en-suite facilities and a small bed can be provided for a younger child. The living area is open plan and light floods the area through Velux windows. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you would need for your stay and the table comfortably sits four so room to entertain friends or family. The property is suitable for two adults and a young child, the studio next door would accommodate another couple on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

It is a quiet retreat for people who want to connect with nature. Popular with walkers, you can choose to follow the abundance of coastal paths or follow the bridleways through fields. Photographers can enjoy the wildlife and rugged coastal paths. Just two miles away is Stithians Reservoir. Very popular with water sports enthusiasts, there is a range of activities for all ages including paddle boarding, canoeing and windsurfing. Equipment can be hired and lessons are available to book.ahere is a 5-mile circular walk through meadows, wet woodland and heathland full of wildlife - a great place to take your dog. Return to the welcoming café for well-deserved refreshment or for something more substantial the nearby pub has a great choice of home cooked food. You can walk from the property to Stithians Lake across fields. The owner is more than happy to give you directions. Why not catch your breath, sit on the comfortable sofa and look out at the amazing views, or when the weather is nice, sit outside and enjoy the peace. At night the skies are especially outstanding and you may see the Milky Way.
