This was a really lovely, quaint pub in a perfect rural setting. The beer garden area captured the sun all day. Breakfast was great. The entrance to use in the evening could be lit up better as it felt unsafe being alone. The cleanliness of the rooms also needs to be reviewed as it let it down. The bed was lovely and comfy with great pillows and fluffy duvet. I would stay again.

This is a lovely place to stay and we had a lovely room but the bed was extremely hard. (Not to our taste) The resturant was busy but we were told we could have a table at 7.30. We were shown our table but then sat there for over 30 minutes, ignored! We ended up speaking to the manager. It was no fault of the two servers, they were run off their feet with large groups to deal with. The fish and chips were lovely but totally unsatisfactory service as more staff were needed. Breakfasts, limited but good.

Lovely place to stay

Food here is excellent quality, good beer selection and very friendly professional staff. Have stayed 3 times so far and will be staying plenty more times. This is the place we have chosen to stay when on business in the area. There are also some great walks in the area and a nice well stocked local shop

Despite having paid in full up front was charged more for room in hidden bill charge. When raised was told manager not available to sort it. Don't bother trying to contact them as no one returns email or voice mail or answers phone

A really top notch stay!

A really great stay, check in was smooth mid afternoon, superior room was fine with a fantastic super king bed and huge bathroom. We had supper in the bar, good food and drinks in a busy pub setting, a nice buzz and big shout out to Lewis and Sam who were so friendly and professional, a great team. Breakfast was really good, again in the bar with plenty of choices cooked to order as well as a small buffet. We will definitely return again!

Come for the pie alone!

Great place to stay, room was comfortable and clean and the shower was amazing. The best part was the restaurant though, it is worth coming here just for the venison pie alone! Genuinely the best pie I’ve ever had and the staff on that evening were incredibly friendly and professional. I spend 4 nights away a week for work and I will definitely be booking in here again!

Great stay, fabulous location

We had a fabulous stay, the only niggles we had were the coffee provided is coffee bags and weak at best, and there were little options for someone with lactose intolerance, however that said this didn’t dampen our stay. The room was amazing, cute and cosy, the members of staff that we interacted with were all friendly, the two young male staff members were very attentive and friendly, making us feel very welcome indeed

Excellent all round.

Room was superb. Turns out I had the bridle suit which was very nice. The only complaint if I had to find one would be the pillows. Looked big and comfy but they wasn’t. All went flat and not very comfortable, but that’s an objective complaint. Food was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful staff. I will be certainly using this hotel again on my travels.

Not for me

For the money it was probably the worst place I’ve ever been. Didn’t appreciate comments on my ethnic group or not being allowed to use the restaurant even though I’d booked well in advance. Definitely not a place I’ll be visiting in the future.
