Enjoy a peaceful lake front house located on a private 65 acre lake in a small gated community with only a few other residents, offering you a quiet, serene, peaceful and exclusive get away surrounded by acres of beautiful wooded common ground and only 15 minutes from downtown Hermann Wineries.

October 2023: New Roof & New Siding!

All newly remodeled in 2018, the 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a lake front deck and screened in porch is able to accommodate any size family for a relaxing stay.

The house is easily accessible and located just 15 minutes from historic downtown Hermann MO where you will find numerous wineries & vineyards, antique shops, bars and restaurants.

Living\Dining Room: 55" TV, Netflix, Wifi, Xbox [WiFi: 4MB=slow]

Kitchen: Refrigerator, stove\oven, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes, cooking utensils, spices

Bedrooms: Upstairs bedrooms have queen beds, main level has a king bed.
Drawers & closets for clothing.

Outdoors: Beach area, fishing, fire pit, gas bbq pit, picnic tables, swimming.

Guest access: Self check in. The whole house is available for use except the basement.

Nice, serene location
The host was very easy to communicate with, the posting is accurate & check in process was simple. If you’d like a nice, serene location this is the one for you. It is located on a private lake out in the middle of nowhere so it can be difficult to locate. The cabin was cozy with everything we needed. I was not able to use 1st floor bedroom because the fan blade was broken but that didn’t bother our stay. We enjoyed most of our time visiting in the screened in patio as there were too many bugs to be outside at night. The patio wasn’t spotless, I attributed it to lake life. My biggest concern was the tics that we got on us from walking from our car in the driveway to the front door. It’s a good place to relax & unwind. Just bring & apply a lot of bug repellent.

The views were spectacular as soon as you walked in the door. If the weather was over we would have spent more time on the decks but we enjoyed the time together. The drive to our destination was short and contact with the owner was great. Their directions were spot on. Loved our whole experience

The lakeside view was amazing and the fishing was great. The house was not well kept. Outside is falling apart and there is water damage to the roof inside and out. There are holes in the wall and everything was dusty. With a little TLC the house could be amazing. But overall had a great time with my family and would do it again.

We loved staying here! It was perfect for our group of 8. It is a little far from Hermann but great access to the trolley. Steve (home owner) was so easy to work with and very responsive on everything! Will absolutely be returning.

Lakeside relaxation
We enjoyed our stay and our time spent on the water. The inside was beautiful and clean. We loved the community frig. We had lots of fun on the paddle boat and yard games. The outside needs a bit of cleaning up. We had to clean out the fire pit so we could use and we were unable to use the swing and grill because they both were too dirty. Overall, we had a great relaxing experience.

Great House, Beautiful Lake
We had a great time at the lake house, the area was extremely quite and peaceful. The screened in porch was our favorite place, shaded by trees and cool all day. The kids had a blast playing in the lake, there is a nice open, sunny area directly behind the house perfect for swimming, and a large flat grassy area that is great for outdoor games. Steve was an excellent host, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, plates, and silverware. The internet also worked well, the kids were able to stream video.

Beautiful place
Very secluded and absolutely beautiful view. The place is really nice... I don't think its big enough for 10 people, but we made it work for 8. Very nice to have a lot of the amenities and extra's.. Thanks Steve. Fun location, not far from Hermann, Try the Silver Dollar, the food is great. Really enjoyed our stay.

This place is a little hard to get to but well worth the effort. There is complete privacy. The owner was very responsive /helpful to questions. I would come back here in a heart beat. FABULOUS!!!House had everything you needed plus a few extras. Thanks Steve !

Grandpa's Lake House
Best thing about "Grandpa's Lake House" is the gorgeous setting! Just postcard perfect! Refreshing. Calming. Inviting. Host is very easy to work with & get in touch with. Thank you for sharing your grandpa's house with us. So close to St Louis, it's a quick, delightful ride to a secluded lakeside cabin. All the winery, restaurant & shopping pleasures of Hermann, MO are a big bonus! Floorplan of home works well for about 6 people. There are 3 adequate size bedrooms with large attached baths. The screened-in porch tucked under this mini forest w comfy hammock was an added treat. Living- Dining- Kitchen Open floorplan & lake-facing wall of windows & sliding glass doors made the average size lake home feel spacious & refreshing. Large sectional sofa can hold 4 adults comfortably but that leaves dining room chairs for others. I feel it is over priced for the size, and considering some disappointments that can easily be remedied. Also, listing photos, are accurate. House, deck, lake, rooms look just like the photos. Much anticipation due to photos & disappointing to enter the house to greasy, dirty kitchen. Easily remedied by attention to detail to make arrival consistent with advertisement. Well stocked, updated, gorgeous but Dirty kitchen. We arrived to greasy residue lining entire stainless steel sink in highly attractive kitchen. Dirty front of newer stainless fridge w icemaker & water dispenser was followed by unacceptable lack of clean interior. Very well stocked kitchen with everything you could imagine would accumulate in a multigenerational home made it easy to prepare meals. But the residue, grime & crumbs in cookware made cooking a challenge as cookware, glasses, microwave & stovetop needed to be cleaned. Easily remedied with a focused & attentive cleaning person. Firm, Med, Soft Beds w adequate storage in each room. Sleepers would find a Goldilocks heaven with a very firm bed, firm bed & just right bed. But old, stained mattresses with a few dead ticks was another disappointment. Easily remedied by purchasing 3 new beds. After adjusting to the element of "rustic" ... let's face it...forgotten & neglected health code details...we made the mental shift necessary to endure the building for the sake of our much needed weekend away & the gorgeous setting. Minor effort would transform this place to match the expectation the listing made us think we were getting.
