"Really liked many aspects of this hotel. I was there in the winter for a visit to one of the many yards that calls Makkum home. Restaurant and service was two highlights and the view from the room was great. Bed and bedding, not so much, the team would need to switch things up for me to sleep well with both feeling dated and bedding not fitting well to the bed. "

"We (husband, 4-year-old, and I) really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was included, and they offered a variety of options. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. It's very much an old European hotel, which is part of its charm. The location is great - right in the center of town. Note that there is no elevator, so it won't be the right choice for anyone who cannot climb stairs. "

"Smelled like somone was smoking inside just before we got there. Blankets had obvious stains on them. Double bed was 2 nylon covered mattresses pushed together. Made for a very uncomfortable night. "

"Accommodation was fine. Lovely little pub 5 min walk from property. Only problem was getting the key from reception as they said didn't seem to know we were arriving. They also couldn't find the key after speaking to the owner, eventually gave me the spare key but it was a bit stressful at the time. I must point that this was reception's fault and not the owner of the property."

"Service and restaurant were great but room was extremely tiny with tiny tv, no air con but loud fan and you could feel building moving when big cars were passing by on the main street. Loud so forget about sleeping with windows open. And if you fat, you might struggle to fit into shower cabin 😳 "

"Net opgeknapt, modern ingericht. Schoon. Bij aankomst zijn de bedden al opgemaakt, keuken- en badhanddoeken zijn aanwezig, erg fijn. Communicatie met de verhuurder verliep erg prettig. In Makkum genoeg te doen als je van watersport (surfen, zeilen) en natuur houdt. Gezellige stadjes in de buurt (Workum, Hindeloopen). Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar."
