Vintage Pet-Friendly Family Cabin and Bunkhouse in the Atlanta State Forest
Pine Oaks Lodge is a 1950's era cabin right on the edge of The Atlanta State Forest, thousands and thousands of acres of trees, lakes, wildlife, and trails. A major trailhead is at the end of the lane, walking distance from the front door. Bring your recreational vehicles or just bike or hike your way around the woods. There are 50+ lakes in Montmorency County which provide opportunities for boating, swimming, and fishing. For you birdwatchers, the Kirkland Warbler travels all the way from the Caribbean to nest in the Jack Pines that are within walking distance from our lodge. This is night sky country, so if you are lucky enough to have a clear night, you can enjoy amazing views free from light pollution. Pine Oaks Lodge has a secluded feel, but is just 3 miles from the Village of Hillman centrally located for short and longer day trips to a multitude of state and national forests and parks, as well as other outdoor sports, activities and tourist destinations.

Thanksgiving/Hunting Get-A-Way!
This cabin was the perfect cabin for my family. We spent thanksgiving there which the kitchen was fully supplied with cooking accessories to cook the meal. The living room was very spacious for all of us to hang out. The cabin is surrounded by state land , so we did not have to go far. It was perfect for what we needed it for and very affordable.

This was overall a great place to stay. We really enjoyed that there was no television. It caused us to take time to read and just talk. Unfortunately it was raining, so no camp fire, but there was a beautiful area for one. I would recommend and would use this location again.

Cozy cabin
Cozy cabin in a quiet area. There are neighbors but very quiet ones, never saw anyone else. Loved that there was limited cell service as my kids actually played games in the evening with us. And great that the owner left a stack of games as I didn’t think to pack any. Teenagers enjoyed having their own space in the hunters cabin. Definitely a huge step up from the tent camping we usually do.

Quiet unplugged relaxing weekend…
My brother and I stayed here for the weekend as a base camp for our trout fishing and mushroom picking trip.. It was very nice and relaxing.. no Wi-Fi but none needed. We have Verizon service and had no problems with reception.. The cabin is plenty big enough for 6-8 people.. The hunters cabin out back is pretty neat also.. a nice studio style room.. nice quiet area.. it was a bit warm for a bon fire but it looked like a nice area to sit and enjoy one.. The hosts were very responsive to any questions I had.. plenary of linens.. a beautiful stone fireplace.. now converted to gas log.. rustic beams.. 2 bedrooms with comfortable beds.. lots of windows and a A/C unit for the hot summer days.

A Cozy Getaway
The cabin was exactly what we wanted when we planned this much needed weekend getaway!
The interior was cozy and felt like a home away from home rather than a sanitized hotel room. There was so much personality in the cabin with its rustic decor. The beds were cozy and we all slept well both nights. The bathroom was a bit smaller than expected, but not to the point of inconvenience just more cramped. That said it was great to have indoor plumbing and a hot shower each day!
We had wanted to try out the firepit, but due to the rainy weather most of Saturday we forgo those plans. The pit looked well built and maintained with plenty of firewood available.
Overall our experience was very good with both the check-in and out process being very straightforward. James and Alisa are excellent hosts and I'd highly recommend giving this property a try for your next getaway!

Cozy Cabin
The cabin was located in a great central location for us on our bird hunting trip. The fenced in area behind the cabin is very convenient if you are traveling with a dog. The grill is great. Was refreshing not having a t.v. Plenty of room for a trailer if you are pulling rec vehicles or a boat.
This is a cabin built in the 50's that has the original tree beams in the overhead structure that you have to watch out for if you are over about 6' tall. Both of us that stayed are 6'3 or taller so the bathroom, specifically the toilet is cramped. Understandable considering the origin of the cabin. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is I feel something about that should be in the listing.

Great cabin
The cabin had lot's of nice touches and fun stuff to look at. It was a quite and relaxing place to come back to after a day of fishing. The fire pit area was perfect for hanging out and making smores. The cabin is close to a lot of great outdoorsy stuff. All in all, we had a great mini-vacation and will consider staying there again next time we head up to Fletcher's for fishing.
