"The property does have a slight slant on the first floor which can be fun after a few adult beverages. The house was clean and provided all the things i needed. The host communicated the door number the morning off as promised. The only complaint i would have is the pool table is too big for that room and the dart board is missing the darts. I would rent this house again next time I'm in Roanoke. "

Every day, hundreds of gnat/fly like bugs were dead in the bathrooms (looking for water), spiders were everywhere and the kitchen was infested with ants from the second we walked into the home. We ended up having to keep all of our food in the fridge."

"My husband and I went to Roanoke for our anniversary. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. This place was super close to downtown. When we went, the weather was stormy, but we could have easily walked to downtown,if the weather had permitted. "

"Cool cabin, peaceful and quiet. Very basic items were provided. Bring your own kitchen and bath items, like baking dish, spices, cooking oil, condiments, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, etc. Washer and dryer in the bathroom was convenient. You have to hand wash dishes since no dishwasher. Trout in the pond are used to being fed with fish food rather than hunting for natural food. Lol. Saw couple turkeys and couple deer around the pond. Lots of birds and squirrels."

"A couple friends and I went fishing on the upper James and rented the River's Bend cabin. What a fabulous place! The cabin was clean, spacious, and well-appointed with everything we needed for a 3-day getaway. There are beautiful views of the river from the multi-level back deck and the screened in porch overlooking the mountains was a great spot for a nap or evening cocktail. "Some friends and I stayed at this beautiful home for a girls weekend and it was amazing! The house had everything we needed and was so close to everything! We spent our nights in the hot tub and making a fire and our days visiting the Alpaca farm, a local vineyard, downtown Roanoke, and a few other places. We definitely want to come back to experience the kayaks and SUP. So thankful for a great host. "

I urge VRBO to remove this property and refund money paid for no service at all."

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Roanoke – Civic Center, an IHG Hotel

"We enjoyed staying at this Holiday Inn Express. The facility and rooms were very clean, updated (looked new or recently renovated). The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was quite good. The hotel was within walking distance to the Civic Center which we were here to attend a concert which made this very convenient alleviating us from having to drive and find parking. The only slightly negative comment I have is the hotel is very close to the main highway which you will periodically hear trucks and highway noise. Beyond that everything was excellent."

"Got in late, and the front desk recommended switching rooms to accommodate me (single female) to a closer room, so I wouldn’t have to go as far. Pretty sure he knew it had been a day. Rooms, while not new, were remarkably clean. They would have passed the white glove test. Only downside is breakfast was cleaned up promptly at 930 on Saturday morning, which I didn’t realize during my zombie mode check in as someone who had gotten in at almost 2. However, I was lucky to get a cup of coffee. A little later ran breakfast (even if it’s just fruit, or yogurts) would have been terrific, especially on a weekend. It’s not the end of the world, I lived. Would stay there again as it’s extremely close to the airport. Silver lining— missing breakfast cut off allowed me to stroll with my quickly acquired coffee to enjoy the beautiful array of hydrangeas around the entry and walk way in. So beautiful! "

"We came to a wedding and stayed at the hotel. It was lovely and the wedding was very wonderful. The charm and historic atmosphere was phenomenal. We would love to stay here again. The only thing we didn’t like was the fact you have to pay to park. With the high cost of the hotel, parking should be included. "
