"This was a really nice small hotel. Staff was so friendly, since this is small, they knew us after day one and talked to us and shared sightseeing recommendations. Food at the hotel restaurant was excellent."

"We were lucky to have perfect weather at the end of September. No rain and all the views/hikes were amazing. It’s a place for people that likes the outdoors and calm of a remote place. "

"Driving into Hjelle through the lakeside tunnel was magical. This repurposed schoolhouse was a fantastic place to experience old-world Norwegian living. Loved the nook beds and touches of history. The modern bath and kitchen were integrated well. The property manager was kind and helpful - he let us know when the early snowfall unexpectedly closed down the mountain pass. Was a great site to just relax and enjoy!"
"This was a very welcome relaxing hotel. The pool temperature was comfy warm - not too hot. My partner really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. Our breakfast was amazing with the amount of choices available "
"We had a very nice 2 night stay in a cabin next to the lake. The proprietor greeted us, showed us the way to the cabin, told us where we could get dinner that evening, and came over the next morning to tell us that the road we planned to take to Geiranger to go on a fjord cruise was closed due to snow overnight. He was a wonderful host!
The cabin itself was very nice, with a comfortable, albeit softer than we’re used to, bed. The bathroom had good water pressure for the sink and shower. No washcloths were provided, but this seems to be common in Norway accommodations. The clothes washer worked well. There was no clothes dryer, but a drying rack was provided. Our cabin was in a beautiful setting and we would stay here again if we ever visited this area of Norway again. "
