Our Comfort Was Not a Priority
Owner, Jim, does NOT provide for customers' comfort. There was flooding the weekend we stayed. Houses lost power. It came back on at 3 AM during our first night. I don't fault Jim for that. However, when the power came on the AC did not work. Jim (text) said to flip the circuit breaker, reset the thermostat, etc. 2 hrs later, he finally called a handyman who also couldn't fix it. By then it was almost 9 PM. I had been at my mother's funeral all day and had an appointment at 9 AM an hour away the next morning. Jim wanted to send an electrician over that night. I told him I needed to sleep and I wanted a window AC unit. Jim said he didn't have a portable unit. It was a humid 79 degrees in the house. There was a window AC unit in the casita right out back that he could have let us use! Jim didn't offer to bring over more fans or a swamp cooler or anything to provide for our comfort. Our children were in the bunk room, which has NO ceiling fan. They had to sleep on the couch, where there was a ceiling fan. Jim did not contact us at all the next day to solve to send an electrician or to provide a portable AC unit or fans. Nothing. The house was 79+ degrees the entire time. When we said we wanted a discount, Jim blamed us for not letting the electrician come in to fix the unknown problem "in the wall" at 9 PM until who knows when. Another con: The master bath & bedroom have no separation; there is no vent, leaving odors to permeate the entire room. No light in the Master shower.
