Room for improvement
The apartment has a very convenient location and is in a nice area. It was good to have the kitchen and the rooms are spacious. However, it seemed as though the cleaning had been abandoned partway through. There were crumbs in the sofa and the tray in the oven had food residue. The mop and bucket and vacuum cleaner were left in the middle of floors.
The inaccurate online description stated that there was free onsite parking, but there was actually only one parking space associated with 4 apartments in the building, so it was dependent on it being available. There were 4 of us staying in our apartment with 2 cars between us. When booking the property I had asked about parking availability, but did not get a response.
The check-in process was a bit confusing. When we arrived at the building it was not clear where to go or where we could park since the parking spaces are all assigned. We had to give an arrival time and were told we'd be charged £10 for every hour we were late which was not communicated on booking. As it was, the person who gave us the keys was running late, so we were actually waiting for him.
When we arrived at the property and were trying to find out what to do, I tried calling one of the numbers I had been given, but there was no response. I then called another number which went to management in London who then passed a message on and a local manager called me back. It just wasn't straightforward.
This flat does have great potential, but room to improve.
