"The area is picturesque with nice views of the mountains. There are two supermarkets and a petrol station close by. The interchange for the highway is 2 minutes away. There are a number of restaurants fairly close. The yakiniku restaurant gets booked up pretty quick so be sure to make a reservation. The former Sanada residence and military school are worth taking a look at too. They are just a couple of minutes away. The hotel itself is fresh and clean, with free sparkling wine, beer and snacks...

"This property was beautiful and very clean. Staff are super friendly and accomodating. It is a bit out the way from main areas of Hakuba. However, the hotel does have a shuttle bus, only on a limited schedule though. "

"This large and rambling hotel is on a wooded mountain slope near the Happo-One gondola and quite far from Hakuba Station. It is one of only a few hotels operating during the off-season (late June) and would be bustling with winter sports enthusiasts during the ski season. My visit was quiet and relaxing. "

"The apartment for 4 person is located in a building with no elevator, so we had to carry luggage up the staircase. Luckily, we were given 2nd floor unit. The apartment unit is spacious and clean. The staff is responsive to our message and can write in English. Overall still a great stay and would recommend to others. 👍"

"Manager and staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious. Traditional sleeping mat was very comfortable and I probably got my best night's sleep while on this trip. Walls are a little thin, but all guests were quiet and respectful of others. Baths looked great but unfortunately didn't get to use them. With size 15 feet I wouldn't expect any of the hotel slippers to fit. We had excellent meals within a 5 minute walk. Really enjoyed Yamanouchi!"

"Great deal for the price! Walkable to other areas, easy parking, and the breakfast buffet (mostly Japanese) had a good selection. The hotel also has an onsen (one outdoor) within its grounds. The beds and pillows were too hard for me, but overall, great value for money!"
