Unconventional, Yet Comfy
I will say that this place really is quite unconventional, but if you can get past some of the unconventional things you’ll enjoy your stay. Upon entering the place you can tell it seems to be an old warehouse or parking garage that was renovated to be a living space. There is cement flooring and the ceilings are non existent (as you see in the photos). Despite this, the place is clean, there is running hot water, and the beds are very comfortable. It is also an ideal location. If you are not staying in the central San Diego area, Imperial Beach is the next best place to be and this home is in a great place. A 6 minute drive to the beach straight down the road it’s on, surrounded by convenience stores and food options. If I could provide any feedback I would say to please put rugs in this place, the cement is cold to walk on. If you can find a way to make the walls and ceiling closed it would be a huge improvement. The open ceiling concept leaves no room for privacy, even in the bathroom. And considering the bathroom is next to the kitchen and eating area, smelling someone in the bathroom while eating is not appealing. Overall, if it’s for a short weekend I think anyone can make this place work for them (bring house shoes), but it does take some getting used to. Oh, also be prepared for European style showers. There is no door to close you in completely. There’s just a half panel of glass and the back half of the shower is open.
