PRIVATE 150FT WATERFALL RIGHT OFF DECK! Rustic, Asian inspired.

Paradise Lost! Come to one of the most unique properties in the Blue Ridge. Artisan home surrounded by 15 acres with a 150ft waterfall a few feet off the front deck. If you are looking for WIFI and TV this is NOT your vacation. Looking for down time? Looking for inspiration? Looking to reconnect with nature and disconnect from the speed of the world this IS the place for you. Open the windows and let the sound of the water heal your soul. Sit in front of an antique picture window with 20 foot writing desk and watch as the rays of the sun filter through the canopy of trees and light across the pages of your journal. From this window you will be looking down about 100 ft to the creek below and at all the amazing rock formations on the opposing bank. Or take your yoga mat on the deck and do warrior pose as the sun wakes the day. At night build a fire in the pit on the deck and listen to the night sounds as you watch the stars come out. Take a soak in the Asian tub inside the house and open the windows and listen to the falls as you let the weight of the world fade away. Everyone who comes will understand how special this place is. You can not write about special you have to feel it. Home was previously owned by writer and playwright. From the soapstone kitchen sink to the shower room with a rock ledge for the drain every detail is unique. It is the perfect vacation for writers or romantics. The driveway is steep with turns and some loose gravel. Guest will need to have an all wheel drive or 4x4. Your option is to park inside gate and shuttle supplies up and down in a cart that is provided. Driveway is about 100yards long roughly.

Around the area you will find yourself 3 miles from the New River and Blue Ridge Parkway. You are about 45 minutes from some of the best hiking the state has to offer at Grayson Highlands State park where you can connect to the Appalachian Trail. The New River Trail you can pick up as you enter Galax 20 min from cabin. This will connect you with miles of walking trail. West Jefferson NC is a 50 min drive and you can spend all day walking quaint shops and wonderful eateries.

Magical and Nourishing
We had such an amazing stay at this waterfall oasis. We had plans to hike and explore Grayson Highlands, and it ended up being quite difficult to want to leave! We could’ve easily enjoyed several more nights here, and look forward to returning. Thank you so much for thinking of everything under the sun. The house was equipped with everything we needed and more. We are so glad we were able to experience a stay and celebrate our anniversary at this wondrous spot. It’s a memory we deeply cherish. Lovely!
A great place to disconnect and reconnect. We'll be back for sure! Just be aware of the driveway-- it really is steep and even my husband's Subaru struggled to get up it. You will need a car with 4WD for sure.

Zen Paradise
I highly recommend this peaceful home overlooking a beautiful waterfall that you hear morning and night. We loved waking up and seeing the waterfall. The Japanese soaking tub offered a tranquil view of the waterfall during the day, sounds if the waterfall and candlelight at night. No wifi, no cell phones … an incredible respite from fast paced life.

My wife and I live in the country on a purty piece of land, but this spot is something special. The sounds and the grounds are lush but they are rivaled by the deep soak tube hanging over you private waterfall in the back yard. We will be calling on our wonderful host, Caroline, again!

Unplug and reconnect
The waterfall cottage was exactly what my husband and I needed! We loved everything about our stay. We read, listened to the wonderful cd collection, danced, played cards and just enjoyed each others company while watching and listening to the falls. We cooked breakfast and dinner in the well supplied kitchen each day and explored local towns in the afternoon. Caroline really thought of everything! We look forward to coming back. Amazing retreat in the woods
This is a total zen experience. The house is beautiful inside and so well stocked. Caroline has thought of every small detail from the kitchen to the bathroom all the way to the well stocked medicine chest. Just bring your clothes and food. Turn off the world and turn on the recovery!

A Sanctuary
Short stay this time, but we made the most of it. This property is an absolute gem. You can relax in a comfy chair staring at the elegance of the falls with a glass of wine and some music playing, or soak for hours in the tub. Outside, the waterfall and stream are an exciting habitat for various wildlife. We spotted two different types of newts! The space is so inviting, and you can really see the care that's gone into making it so remarkable. Everything is magical. Turn off your phone, unpack your things, and let the natural, wild beauty of this place erase your troubles. We'll certainly be back for a longer stay in the future!

Beautiful and romantic!
My husband and I had a wonderful, rejuvenating time at Healing Waters. The space is gorgeous and comforting. I’m glad we followed the recommendation to bring in food with us because we were so happy to snuggle in and enjoy a quiet dinner with the amazing waterfalls as our backdrop. My husband enjoyed making a fire in the potbelly woodstove and popcorn in the old-timey Whirlypop while I enjoyed the soaking tub and view. There is everything you need to enjoy coffee and tea in the morning (just bring your milk). We enjoyed just walking down the road with mountain views and getting to Grayson Highlands State Park was a beautiful 50 min drive for hiking. We hope to visit again!

Glorious Getaway
“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately,’’ Thoreau wrote. Allow this magnificent house and setting to ably serve as your Walden Pond, even if only for a couple of days. If you’re simply trying to stay alive in the workaday world, come here and simply…live. You’ll have the sight and sound of a waterfall off the deck, the colors of the forest, and a dwelling that meshes perfectly with the peaceful setting, while providing plenty of material amenities. Yes, everything you see in the photos is real, although when you awaken from your afternoon nap on the deck, you may feel that you’re still in a dream.

Secluded Natural Serenity
This place is amazing. Beautifully crafted building that seems to have been built around the bathtub and views of the waterfall. Exposed reclaimed timbers and lots of windows. It felt like we were at our own private sauna and meditation center. We parked at the top of the hill by the gate and walked down. We didn't trust our minivan to make it back up the steep hill. We actually had just enough cell coverage to send a text (Verizon). Our only regret was not being able to figure out the landline phone number so we could say goodnight to our kiddos. Highly recommend this place if you are looking to unplug and love nature.

While the pictures are spot on, get ready for a unique experience!
Looking for a quiet retreat, I ran across this place and was intrigued by the description and pictures showing thoughtful accommodations, solitude, and serenity. Yes, don’t plan on cell service or TV (a landline is available if needed), but do look forward to watching a waterfall from bed and hearing the water rush by in the star filled darkness of night while being warmed by a fire. One afternoon during our time there, we rested our feet in the water and found spots on rocks to watch the water flow. The place is well appointed and the kitchen is well equipped. My wife loved the bathroom’s tub. It was perfect for a get-a-way! If you need to stretch your legs, we were able to see old time bluegrass music and eat food in Galax as well as make an easy drive over to Grayson Highlands where there are some wonderful hiking options. Caroline is a thorough host!

A hidden gem
My wife and I spent our second anniversary at this location and it was such a spectacular experience. It's so peaceful to wake up at your leisure being able to see the waterfall just a few hundred feet away from where you're sleeping. The house was very clean, well stocked in the kitchen, and a sense of charm that is unrivaled for other locations/rentals that I've got to in a very long time. It's truly something special. My only recommendation is that if you're a side sleeper (especially if you're a picky one like I am), I highly recommend bringing along a pillow that is comfortable for you. I had a challenging time staying comfortable in bed. For everything else to be so peaceful and perfect, that was a bummer (although, I take responsibility for this since I know I have my preferences and I didn't bring anything along). Overall, it was exactly what we needed; stepping away from the distractions of the day-to-day and enjoying true quality time with one another. We visited Grayson Highlands for a nice day hike but the rest of the time was spent in the cabin. I can't recommend this place enough!!

Serene Isolation
This Asian design influenced home immediately caught our attention as we’re looking for an interesting place to stay several nights. We reserved & received a quick acceptance confirmation from the owner. We were excited to stay in an environment that advertised as quiet & peaceful, but with necessary conveniences. Unfortunately, the check in process was not smooth. It could undoubtedly be improved by providing clear & accurate location/ distance/ marker instructions to the home ie. a simple map w/identifiers. I reached out to the owner with the faintest cellphone service possible as we were looking & driving to dead ends in that general area. We are very keen map readers & got jammed up w/inaccuracies in labeled ‘primitive’ church vs. non labeled abandoned church. We spoke directly to the postal mailman driver & several neighbors- that was unnecessary if the instructions were not exact w/detailed map. The owner should have called landline to check on us. The owner should have communicated (in advance) or during the booking process that the property is accessible only by all wheel drive vehicles. The slope has severe grade and thank goodness my husband is an expert former military driver. It would be virtually impossible to navigate if there were any weather conditions such as heavy rains. Once we got down the hill & parked the car we were in awe with the surroundings; it was absolutely serene & remote. In opening the house, a nice sized black snake came right up to the porch area to greet & welcome us! We’ve both been in some very off the beaten path places to stay & ‘animals & creatures’ from nature are to be expected. Just be aware. There was a mouse hiding from the snake welcome committee under the outdoor sofa & a number of wasps in the home. Nevertheless, embracing the picturesque cascading waterfall (central focal point) of the house & getting settled in, we were more than ready to relax into this serene place. Serenity lasted only about 20 minutes when the landscaper began his work at the top of the main road & worked his way down the hill. Lots of noise, grinding &!intrusion- why couldn’t these have been scheduled earlier? Other general pts. to mention: The coffee pot needs to be replaced w/ a full size one that brews properly. The mini coffee pot was messy, leaking and inadequate. A bed headboard should not be a bench covered with loose pillows- that’s just uncomfortable. The lighting needs improvement in bedroom & main room.

150' Waterfall House
Fabulous, beyond our expectations. The waterfall is just as pictured, if not better. We had a lot of rain one day, and the water volume increased very much. WOW! It happened twice that one day. The view of the waterfall from the bed is a very nice extra.

Fall away
Our stay at the falls was so needed. I kidnapped my husband and although he was skeptical about the location, and the place, he changed his mind really quickly. The mode of the inside of the home resembled nothing but peace and tranquility. Every little detail was perfectly placed. We loved the sounds of the falls with each game or puzzle we worked together. We can’t wait to return! We added to the library and puzzle collection. Such a blessing to find and be able to stay!

A Little Piece of Heaven
The falls are so beautiful and soothing and the house so delightfully creative and charming we felt like we were in our own personal paradise for a few days. This wasn’t our first visit and won’t be our last. The host communicated with us extremely well, and we were overwhelmed with peace and joy during our time away from it all. The falls really do feel very healing.
