It was refreshing to enter the lobby and be able to have a cup of delicious lemonade and baked treat.
However, the room I was in could use a bit of upgrading, especially the air conditioner unit and better choices of tv programs.

A lovely old hotel in a fabulous location, the bed blankets contain stains!!…plus long black hair in the bathroom area…not very clean

We liked everything - the quirkiness of the room with a wall of book shelves and books, a giant mirror leaning against the sall; didn’t mind that we had to call when the hot water didn’t come up, we liked the hotel very much. What we didn’t like was when we checked out, were told that as we had prepaid, we could just go. Days later, we were charged $57, calling the hotel, I was told that there was a facilities charge of $25 per day, pus tax.

Parking included next door a huge plus if you drive to manhattan for time square visit. Also walking distance to broadway theaters. Somewhat noisy at night but that’s what you get center of manhattan

The rooms are small but still very nice.
The pool is unique but also very small. It was so packed one day that we decided it wasn't worth it and did something else.
Elevator situation is brutal. Expect to wait. There is no simply going to the lobby and back up in a minute or two, it will take you ten. Also, 1 ice machine on the whole property is crazy!
