A group of us spent 4 nights at the property in September of 2024. We are between 52 and 71. It wasn't the correct property for us. It is really geared towards families, and multiple generations at that. We all live in Mexico and have proficient Spanish. The property is showing deferred maintenance, and, at times, was really dirty from the crowds. That said---the staff, to a person, were delightful. They were friendly, helpful and seemed to genuinely be glad that we were there. Our biggest problem was that 3 of us booked with Expedia and the other two booked directly with the hotel. There was a marked inequity in the bracelets and the benefits that came along with them. We were constantly given incorrect information on what we could/could not do, where we could/could not eat. On the last full day---the two who didn't book with Expedia paid for an upgrade. Well, due to poorly advised staff members, this resulted in an even bigger problem. They jumped levels above us. It was a problem when they were assured we could all go to the marina for dinner. Once we arrived, the staff had to tell us that this wasn't the case. We could join our newly upgraded friends for dinner but would have to pay the menu prices. We did this, it was never about the money. The real problem is that there was never one clear explanation of the levels of all-inclusive packages.

First, the customer service is not that good, they take their time serving you. Second, we pay for all inclusive, our room did not have a refrigerator, they gave us no water, if we wanted it with an extra charge, I think 50.00 pesos, ridiculous price for a water. Every day the food was the same, there was no variety. In some parts of the hotel it was dirty, our rooms took a while to clean. Not satisfied with the service

For the price that we paid, I would have expected a resort better kept. Some of the furniture looked old and outdated with scratched and scrapes. Some of the bedding was stained.

Loved how family friendly El Cid is and the amenities for families. We opted for Club Elite and having the assistance of staff with anything made our first trip to Mexico that much easier. We also had access to all restaurants at all El Cid resorts which was great because we enjoyed the Japanese place the best of what we tried. The biggest disappointment was the food - but we love good food and have high expectations. I wouldn’t let that outweigh the other amenities.

Inclusive was not as inclusive as I thought, there was limited especially in drinks, beer was awful and they only had Tecate! The room was not to up to average standards, bathroom and shower was old.

Upon stepping into the room, the strong odor of filth and dirt hit me. I called the front desk to cancel my reservation, but they told me the person handling refunds was unavailable. Despite not knowing if I would get my money back, I left the hotel immediately. I couldn't fathom how people could tolerate staying there; the sensation of bugs crawling was unsettling.

I have stayed at cid properties a few times. This time around we stayed at cid castilla which we love. We wanted something more spacious and better views. Yadira was absolutely fabulous when upgrading us to a tower at moro cid with gorgeous views on 12th floor. Most employees at cid were very friendly and always at your service.
