"Amazing villa, by far the best we have stayed at. Spotlessly clean with every amenity we could have wished for. We enjoyed the huge shaded area which was perfect for chilling with a book or drying off after a swim. The local beach is very small but great for a swim or a snorkel. The directions to the villa were great and kept us off the rough tracks which a sat nav can take you via. We enjoyed the taverna at Avithos beach which has great food and lovely views. We definitely hope to return!"

"Beautiful little apartment in the heart that of the city. All the shops/restaurants are at walking distance. Apartment is well equipped with a good shower and a simple but efficient kitchenette. Communication with the host was fluent and fast. Great welcoming of Nectarios that gave us a map of the island and showed us the main places to see. Only issue is the bar next door that plays music until 3am most nights. No drunk people just music until pretty late. "

"A lovely property with fabulous views. Very comfortable bed and good air-conditioning when needed. Our room was number 10 up in the eaves so some low sloping ceilings but an amazing view. Small but adequate kitchenette and bathroom. Great pool. Good local restaurant and handy shop. Definitely need a car, too far to walk to the beach or Fiscardo. Would stay here again. "

"The villa is beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice, which is why I rated the accuracy of online listing as 3. The view is stunning and the villa is fully equipped with everything you need. The pool is brilliant as it isn't very deep so great for younger children. Spiros is a great host and exceptionally welcoming - thank you :). We had such a great time that we are going back next year."

"We only stayed here one nigth to break our stay before traveling to the other side of Kefalonia. It was perfect, just what we were looking for. Rooms are very nice, the place is cool looking, the staff very friendly and the restaurant was very good. The view was relaxing as well. Also there were a few charming little restaurants close by. "

"We really enjoyed our stay here. Theodora was very welcoming. The apartment was clean, well equipped, with excellent views of the bay. The pool was an great addition and was always clean. Highly recommend hiring a car whilst on the island and our favourite restaurant in the hills was "Tavana Filippas". And also enjoyed the "Taxi" pedalos and Kayak, ideal for families. "This was our 2nd stay in Villa Varkoula. It’s a simple but lovely villa, with pool and great views of hills. Very peaceful. A joy to watch the swallows/swifts dipping down to sip from the swimming pool, a few sightings of an eagle and cute bats in the evening. A car is essential, but the town of Lixouri and several lovely and not too busy beaches are all within a short drive. Perfect for a quiet getaway or as a base to explore the wonderful island of the Kephalonia."

"I like this property it's good enough, it's right on the water right on the main drag where you go to eat. However, do not let them put you on the first floor that doesn't have an elevator. The carpet in the entire building really smells disgusting and sometimes the smell comes into your room.
