Stroll along this charming fishing pier that extends into the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the tranquil surroundings in your pursuit of a big catch.

Jacksonville Beach Pier is an idyllic fishing spot on the Atlantic Coast in Florida. The 1,320-foot (400-meter) pier offers fishermen access to a range of deep-water species of fish. A large sign marks the site with its name written over three standing surfboards. Take advantage of the fish-cleaning stations and the store where you can buy essential gear and bait as well as light snacks and drinks. The pier has a friendly atmosphere that is suitable for families.

Stroll along the spacious wooden pier with your fishing equipment. Its deck is 20 feet (6 meters) wide. Enjoy a snack on one of the benches as you admire the surrounding beauty while awaiting your big catch. Many species of fish swim in the water below the pier, including kingfish, cobia and redfish.

Enjoy the picturesque views of the sparkling blue Atlantic Ocean at the end of the pier. Capture photos of the scenery. Visit the pier at night, as the weather stays warm and the area is adequately lit. Chat with other anglers and learn from their fishing techniques. Some locals have been coming here since the pier opened in 2004.

Take a break from the fishing to sunbathe on the white sand adjacent to the pier. Go for a refreshing dip in the ocean. The rough waves make it an ideal surfing spot.

The pier is open to the public daily from very early in the morning until late in the evening. It is wheelchair-accessible and has public restrooms. You won’t need a license to fish from this spot, although there is a small admission fee to access the pier. Children may enter the pier for free.

Come to Jacksonville Beach Pier on the Atlantic Coast in the northeastern part of the city of Jacksonville Beach. It is an 18-mile (29-kilometer) drive east from Jacksonville. The pier is 28 miles (45 kilometers) southeast from Jacksonville International Airport. Pay to park at the Jacksonville Beach Pier parking lot. Nearby attractions include Neptune Beach, Adventure Landing and the Players by the Sea Theater.
