"We had a wonderful stay at First Gate. The location is great because it is right opposite the Jaisalmer fort. You can walk from the hotel to the fort. The market is also walking distance. Fantastic location! As for the property, it's truly wonderful. The exterior has a yellow sandstone, rustic look but the interior is fully modernized. The room had a nice living area (with a couch, coffee table and TV), a spacious bathroom and a bedroom (with a double bed and appliances). The property also has a rooftop hotel that overlooks the fort ; we had dinner here one night and the experience was excellent. The amenities in the room were pretty good too (bathrobes, coffee maker, refrigerator etc). The property also offers breakfast which has traditional Indian and also continental options. They also have all day snacks and coffee/tea/lemonade at the breakfast area. The staff was really nice and friendly. The helped us book reliable transportation to Udaipur (at an extra cost) and also packed us sandwiches and water for our onward trip. I would highly recommend this property. It's clean, safe, quiet and has great amenities. "

"Terrible experience at Hotel. Looks like total mismanagement. I stayed there for two days and haven't seen the service staff changes there dresses. constantly asking for extra bed with totally no response. Expedia peoples are advised to see the professional qualification of hotel staff before approaching them for rooms. Totally money oriented people with lack of management skills. "

"It was a great experience staying at jaisalmer marriot...food ,services,cultural activities,rooms...all were great...there was mutiple options for kids in game zone...there was a nice swimming pool...location of property was at walkable distance to market...we really enjoyed staying here..."

"Expedia site does not mention that the property has no car access. You have to take a tuk tuk from a few miles away (from the car parking area). This is false advertising. Most of the staff were wonderful. I wanted to pay in cash (since I'd exchanged a bunch of foreign exchange), but they charged my credit card without my permission. With proper policies and accurate description, customers will be a bit happier with the property."
