Great location. Rooms need updating and the temperature control was poor. It was either really hot and dry or freezing cold. Also, the walls are extremely thin, and people in the room next to us got into a fight in the middle of the night and we heard everything, going on for over an hour.

This hotel is super convenient if you want easy access to Madison Square Garden, Herald Square, and the surrounding areas. The staff was very nice. The lobby is lovely but the rooms are dated and could use an upgrade.

The staff was very courteous and helpful. We were there during New Years and felt safe the whole time. Awesome location and accessible to everything you need. Mamadu - hotel security was awesome . Will stay here again

Very nice classic hotel very centrally located so everything is a short walk or subway ride away. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and always someone by the elevators doing security checks. Room had a safe, good tv, hair dryer, and iron, which were all in good condition. Drawbacks that lowered my review: daily extra fee for things I didn't use or should be free (add an extra $40 per night when comparing prices - this is listed on the website but it's not completely transparent, and who charges for WiFi these days?!?), bed was super squeaky, no fridge, and a lack of counter/shelf space in the bathroom. Considering it's winter, having a boot mat in the room would be a nice touch as well. Nice place to stay, but I didn't feel the value in the price I was paying.

Thermostat did not work, when showering, water came out the glass door all onto the floor. Maintenance was supposed to put something but never did. Party next door till 4:30am… when I checked out. They said Michael would call to waive resort fees… he never called me…. Other than that it was ok

The room was dirty. The heat did not work properly. The bathroom shower had black mold along the edges and we never had a hot shower. The showers were always COLD! I told the people at the desk about it and one person came up to check but said it was not in their wheelhouse and they would send up someone else to fix it. However, the water was nevre fixed and Wyndham did not do anything about it. Also when we checked in they told us that there were no upgrades available however, they charged us $100 the day we were checking out. They said that the room was upgraded and I argued with them about not having hot water. During the back and forth with one desk person another interferred with our conversation and the woman was very very rude, she should not be in customer service. The gentleman that took care of me was ok after I asked him to get a manager. They removed the $100 upgrade fee because there was not hot water. So I asked does this mean that you always get cold water when showering and get hot water with an upgrade? In any case I then did talk to the hotel manager a few days later and of course he stood up for his people and said that he would check the room this upcoming tuesday. To say the least, I will never ever stay at the New York Wyndham Hotel. Very very disappointing

Arrived to a humid extremely warm room. I called reception and they said there’s no AC during this time of year, and I should just crack open a window. It smelled humid and terrible. I requested a switch. Had to go downstairs again, go through the line again. New room had AC and was completely different, so clearly the woman didn’t know what she was taking about. In general rooms are old (even though they said they upgraded me to the new area). The only reason I picked this place is for convenience by being so close to the train station. And based on the fact that in general hotels are terrible in NY this one isn’t that bad. There was some security as they made sure people had keys to go up the elevators. However, for the price service should be better…

The double room is an excellent option for families. We came before Christmas with three kids and felt that the rooms were spacious ( for NYC) and tidy for the age of the hotel. The bathroom was tiny and old, which worked fine for us as we’re accustomed to living in old houses, but that aspect could turn some folks off. The staff is fantastic and the location superb. The ladies who cleaned rooms were super sweet and asked us in person if we wanted service each morning. We utilized the fold out couch and added a baby crib during our stay. The lobby is stunning and the doormen were very helpful as well. We would absolutely stay here again!
