It was dark. There were 3 lamps in the room and one was loose and the bulb flickered but stayed on if stem in proper position. It was either too cool or too hot as no temp control. Had to get up a couple times in night to adjust to on-low-high heat. The heat unit was also very loud so had to turn tv volume up high to hear it. There is an electronic keypad to get in, but no deadbolt once on the inside. So didn't feel very secure. It was fairly clean, but outdated. No shower soap or shampoo as most places have. The bed was comfortable and owner nice when i called her about pic ID. I wouldn't stay there again.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at three bear lodge! The location is very convenient to hiking trails in Pickett state park and a short drive to Jamestown for restaurant options. The room was spacious and comfortable with microwave and fridge provided and smart TV. I also liked the self check in process. The owners send an email in advance that allows you to access your room with a code. There were a few kinks, getting ironed out as the lodge was under new ownership when I stayed. Ie, There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom; my room had snacks provided, but my friend’s room had none. These are small issues that I’m sure the owners will address with time.

The property was an excellent value. It was very clean. Communication with the owners wss excellent. Check in was contactless and easy. Though it is very close to the highway, it was very quiet and we slept comfortably. The property is recently renovated and set up in a very cute manner. However, there is still some work to do on appearance. The owners are moving in the right direction. All amenities advertised were in the room and worked fine. However, if you wish to drink coffee in the mornings you need to bring your own coffee and fixings. A large drip coffee maker was in the room, but there was no coffee or cream and sugar. Safety-wise, my biggest complaint is the lack of a secondary lock on the door. The only lock is the electric coded lock. Overall, it was a pleasant stay in a lovely natural area. If you want to explore the natural beauty of this area, this property served as the perfect base station. It was clean and comfortable at an excellent price. It was a GREAT VALUE!
