This unique tiny house is surrounded by majestic pine trees and is within walking distance of a quaint, shared neighborhood beach on the Albemarle Sound. The home is nestled within the woods and gives you that outdoorsy feeling while also being only a 3 minute walk to the beach. The sunsets are unforgettable . 20-30 minute drive to Kitty-Hawk and other public tourist OBX beaches depending on traffic that day. This tiny house is perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway or individuals seeking to find an unforgettable stay. 10 minute drive to H2OBX Waterpark.

Our 480 sq.ft tiny house has a cozy bedroom with a surprisingly roomy living area connected to a full kitchen . The rooms are set up to give you a peaceful and relaxing experience.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need to prepare a meal.
Pots, pans, plates, bowls, utensils, cooking oil and salt and pepper are provided, making it convenient for you!

There is a winery just 5 minutes from Juniper Cottage. A grocery store and many fantastic restaurants all less than a 10 minute drive from the Cottage.

The house is raised so being able to walk up stairs is necessary . This property is not wheelchair accessible.

This house is on a well system. At times depending on weather the water can smell like sulfur. This is not usual so don’t be alarmed.

Firewood is not provided for the outdoor fire pit. An ACE hardware store is just 5 minutes away and firewood can be purchased there.

We do allow two dogs max. There is a one time $40.00 pet fee for both of your dogs. You are responsible for any damages that may occur due to your pet . Pets are not allowed on the furniture.

Some neighborhood dogs roam free in this small close knit community. They are very friendly but please be mindful of this for your pets safety when walking through the neighborhood.

We require all pets to be on a leash when outdoors.

This is a beautiful wooded area so expect some bugs!

Dogs are required to have flea and tick prevention prior to arrival on the property.

We love that you get to share this experience with your furry friends but please keep pets off of bed and futon.

Trash gets picked up on Thursday mornings. If a guest is staying on a Wednesday night we ask that they bring the trash can to the street for pick up.

At time of checkout guest are asked to put any sheets, towels, and rags that were used during their stay in the white hamper provided. Guest are asked to wash any dishes used and place on drying rack/mat. We also ask that all tied trash bags be placed in the large trash can outside.

A bit farther than expected
Nice room in a quiet area, about a half hour away from beaches. Dirt roads to access and tight parking entrance. There was some pet hair on the bedsheets when we arrived but changed them out with the extra set of sheets which was fine. There were plenty of things to do inside the cabin and overall was an enjoyable experience.

Wonderful private location. The small beach area was our favorite. We went to 3 public beaches, the waves were way to strong. We would always come back to "our" beach. Very dog friendly. Our dog enjoyed our beach the best!!

This property is absolutely lovely. I brought two dogs who had an awesome time along with my daughter. The beach is breath taking. The fire pit was so fun fun and so warm! Giant Jenga was a hit with my party! The home is beautiful and well kept. The hosts were amazing and very attentive. Communication was top notch. And the neighbors are friendly and helpful. I even forgot something and the host messaged me immediately and is getting it to me. This house will be great for anyone wanting to stay. I had an amazing time and can't wait to come back again!

Off the Beaten Path
The house is off the beaten path in a pleasant neighborhood. The neighbors are quiet with a few neighborhood dogs that may wander by. The house is well kept with a lovely interior and the owners/property managers are very attentive to any questions or needs you may have. We had an excellent vacation and pleasant experience in Juniper Cottage!

Loved the Tiny House life!
My husband and I rented John & Mercy's cottage for 3 weeks (with our dog) and it was amazing. Mercy was very communicative, and helpful when we needed anything. The house itself feels very spacious for a "tiny house." You really have everything you could need - working bathroom with a really nice stand-up shower; comfy bed; decently stocked kitchen; etc. Wireless internet worked fine and consistently (we were able to zoom for work meetings and stream video with no interuptions). There is also a nice little deck off the house where you can grill & chill. The surrounding property is also great. A very nice fire pit, as well as an excellent place to hang a hammock! In regard to the area - You have a sense of privacy and being in the woods. But you also have neighbors who gather at the little community beach to watch the sunset each night, so it feels like the best of both worlds. At the same time, it was just a 20 minute drive to the public beach (on the sea side) in Kitty Hawk, which we did a few times a week during our stay. We would stay again! It was a great place to recharge in nature!

Quiet beach vacation without the city bustle
We loved how secluded but close to everything this place was . Upon arrival , you see it is within a small community that takes turn maintaining the area , including the private beach . We spoke with many of the neighbors because within the first 5 min of arrival, our dog ate the neighbor’s chicken . Beware of the chickens! But ironically enough , that was the first and last chicken we saw . We do feel bad for the chicken . I don’t think the dog felt much remorse . The Beach area is not huge , it’s more of a river feel with a Sandy landing . It was perfect for my family and the dog . It was very intimate and we took Somme great pics while our dog played in the water and with the local , very friendly dogs. We did spend one day at a public beach entry for kitty hawk . The host had recommended where to find the best public parking for beach access , and it was absolutely perfect . You will find a list of recommendations on the fridge , we went with several of their recommendations . The bugs are intense so bring your bug spray! The campfire is beautiful, the shed had water toys , and everything is about a 15-20 minute drive to main attractions . The private beach only 3 minutes. The home had everything you could imagine , back ups of everything ! Plenty of towels , soap , cleaning supplies . This is the perfect place if you’re looking for a quiet spot with the option of going out .

Amazing Beach Vacation
This is an excellent choice for your trip to OBX! A 20 minute drive to Kitty Hawk beaches (easy to find free parking too), a <10 min from vineyard, grocery store, farm stand, and many other local stores! John and Mercy were excellent hosts, they gave us an extensive list of activities around the area as well as restaurant recommendations. The property itself is very charming and clean and away from all the hustle and bustle. The private neighborhood beach is excellent for watching the sunset, reading a book in the morning, and/or meeting the friendly neighborhood people/dogs. We would highly recommend this property for anyone traveling to OBX!

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was perfect for a quick get away. The short walk to the beach was wonderful. We watched the most beautiful sunset. We would love to return! Perfect little house
We had the best time! The house was clean and supplied with everything we needed for cooking showering washing clothes etc and even had everything for the beach also! Pretty neat. They have a wii. Demolished my wife in wii sports. Like a lot. Embarassing really. Great lil beach like a 5 minute walk away. 20 minutes to obx beaches without the traffic. Cant wait to come back!

Just Lovely
The roads getting back to the property were a little rough, but other than that we had a perfect weekend. The location was just removed enough from the rest of OBX that it was quiet and easy to get in and out, but close enough that we had easy access to all of our adventuring this weekend. The house was the perfect size for a couples getaway, the check in and check out were super easy and the extras the hosts offered such as beach chairs, fire pit, and kayaks really elevated our experience to the next level. Will definitely be recommending to friends and returning for our next OBX weekend getaway!

Beach trip to Jarvisburg
Our family enjoyed our trip. The neighborhood beach on the sound is very nice and a cool place to relax. The house itself is very roomy for its size and has just about everything you need. The property is nice too with the bonfire pit and plenty of room for pets. The only downside for us was that it is a bit of a drive to the ocean beaches, but you should know that when you rent it. I would highly recommend for a couple or small family.
