You belong among the wildflowers. Fresh style, relaxing mountain views, and beautiful custom details. Perfect home for families. We set it up with all the things we would want when we visit: a well-stocked kitchen, strong Wi-Fi so you can watch movies or work, well-thought-out spaces for kids and adults. We are at the end of the street, overlooking undeveloped mountain space. Enjoy the stained-glass windows (and Tom Petty inspired) Wildflower Cabin. Because "you belong somewhere you feel free.”
You will enter the cabin into our beautiful living room, with high, knotty-pine ceilings and a cozy wood stove. The views of the undeveloped mountains around the home are inspiring and relaxing. Settle in to watch a movie on our large television. The kitchen is well-equipped, with excellent pantry space and new appliances. There's a monitor and laptop dock workstation where you can set yourself up for work from the luxury of the mountain.
The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed with comfortable, refreshing furnishings, and a full bathroom next door.
Up the renovated staircase, you will find the reading nook on the landing, with a library full of games and books. The spacious primary bedroom features a comfortable queen bed, as well as a cozy chair to enjoy some reading. A vanity and sink connect this bedroom and the upstairs bathroom.
The upstairs "bunk room" houses two twin bunk beds, plus a trundle (for a total of five twin beds). It is decorated for imaginative play, with a custom wildflower mural that our kids helped create. A folding twin mattress located in the closet can also be added to this room or be used elsewhere in the house as a sixth child's bed. We also provide guests with a pack-and-play, stored in the closet, and plenty of sheets and blankets for everyone.
The two upstairs bedrooms share a full bathroom.
This house would be perfect for two families traveling together with kids, or for three generations on a trip together. This home sleeps 4 adults. The remaining sleeping spots are children's beds.
The couple that originally built this house created the beautiful stained-glass windows. The mountain flowers, built into the house, inspired us to name the cabin after Tom Petty's "Wildflowers" album. We think you DO belong among the wildflowers. And, in honor of our love of music, we put one of our family pianos and a guitar in the living room. We encourage guests to use them, and we hope that you enjoy.
Both of our decks face the mountains, with nearly total privacy. We provide a propane grill and outdoor table so you can cook and dine al fresco. The outdoor rocking chairs are perfect for savoring your morning coffee or sipping a glass wine and gazing at the stars.
Our family loves spending time in Julian--there are lots of fun adventures nearby, from hiking to wine tasting to visiting the shops in town. And, even better, we love being able to hang out in this relaxing cabin, enjoying a retreat from everyday life. Since it's at the end of the street, and the windows face across to the undeveloped mountains to the west, it's an especially beautiful getaway.
This home is located about 2 miles south of Main Street, Julian and about 5 miles north of Lake Cuyamaca.

Guests are welcome to park in the driveway or in the garage.
We are completely available to guests during their stay. However, we do not interrupt guests unless necessary.
Unfortunately, there is no public transportation around Julian. You will need a vehicle to get around.
We also own and rent a two-bedroom house across the street, The Littlehale house a "Stunning Custom Retreat in the Trees." We built that house on property that had belonged to our grandparents; their original home was lost in the Cedar Fire in 2003, and we rebuilt a new house for our family to continue to enjoy. Now, as our family has grown, we are grateful to have been able to add this cabin, which was lovingly built by friends of our grandparents. When we're able, we use the two houses together so there's space for everyone; you could, too.
