"Our stay at the Boathouse in Melaya was amazing! The house is exactly as pictured and beautiful! I can’t rave enough about the staff. They are absolutely amazing and so accommodating. The only complaint I have is how remote it is. If total peace and quiet is what you’re looking for then you will be thrilled. We would definitely stay there again if we go to Bali. It’s nice to Spend half your time in Kuta and then end your vacation in the seclusion of the Boathouse."

The room was clean but lots of little details needed to be attended to: dusting behind/under the bed, making sure windows latch properly, leaving had towels and face cloths without having the guest ask, scrubbing the hotel sign, straightening out sun loungers etc rather than having them in random places, turned over etc. Having a hotel information book in each room would certainly help matters. "This is a gorgeous boutique hotel -- it felt like an oasis to us. The rooms are very spacious and many of them are their own little bungalow. The hotel was clearly set up by someone who had passion for this; the detailing and decorations are very tasteful. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. When the main ferry service had terrible delays due to an incident, the manager, Mey, chartered a boat for us and arranged for a car in Bali to get us to our destination. The food at the hotel was very good too. Well worth a stay if you are in the area!"
