"We stayed at Awaikeda ekimae-shop as we planned to do rafting at beautiful Yoshino river. We stayed at Awaikeda honmachi which is a private house but ekimae-shop has 5 rooms and toilet and showers are all shared. The place is basic but clean. We were 6 of us, sleeping on futon on tatami floor in one room. Am glad that our children experienced a proper Japanese sleeping style!"

"The hotel was clean and efficient, but lacked amenities and personality. For example, there were no places nearby to eat dinner. There was a large supermarket nearby though, so we were able to buy food and eat in our small room that had a view of the parking garage. Fine for one night though: clean, safe, quiet. It would have been better if Expedia had offered a choice of room types, such as higher floor, room with a view, or “superior double.” "
