It’s an exciting time to come to the Big Island. The National Park is open again and we have new black sand beaches along the coast! The home is great for a family getaway or Flexcation. Desk area to work from.

Kaloli Point is along the East coast just south of Hilo in one of the many micro climates here. We are the “sunny “ area on the East Side. Blessed with ( cool trade winds and sunshine.
What sets us apart from the rest? I am a local resident of the Big Island. I live just down the street. I will be here to take care of anything you need.
Our home is the perfect spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. Our beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bath home has every thing you need in your home away from home. Granite counters and teak cabinets and an open layout make it a retreat to rest after a long day sightseeing. The backyard is surrounded by an Ohia forest, creating a place of serenity and privacy while cooling off in the in- ground pool. In the evening light up a fire in the outdoor fire pit and enjoy roasting marshmallows while gazing at the stars.
The home is located just 2 blocks from the ocean, where you can walk along the cliffs and trails. In the winter whale watching on the cliffs is a popular local past time.
The nearby historic towns of Kea`au and Pahoa both have restaurants, grocery stores and farmers markets.
The open layout and design of the home makes it accessible for wheel chair guests.”
. The master suite opens out in onto the lanai surrounding the pool. It has a private bathroom and shower. The King size bed has a Vera Wang memory Foam Mattress. You''ll want to lounge in bed all day. The two additional bedrooms share a full bath, one bedroom has a queen size bed and the other a full size bed. Plenty of room to share with friends and family. This is a nonsmoking home.
Just 15-20 minutes away from the Kalapana Lava Viewing area.
The home is perfect for romantic getaways, family vacations.
This home is NOT to be rented for parties, large gatherings, family reunions etc.. There is a maximum of 6 people including children allowed in the home unless otherwise arranged with me.

Please note Hawaii is in the tropics. We have bugs, geckos, and the Big Island has coqui frogs whose mating call can be heard at night.

This is a perfect location being a most beautiful and accommodating property! I will stay here again for sure! Thanks for the tip about Kaloli Point! Absolutely stunning! Great property for families that like to swim. Pool is amazing, house is well equipped for cooking. Very quiet area and a great base for exploring the Hilo side of the island. We stayed here 7 years ago and will hopefully stay again in the future.

Wonderful stay
We really enjoyed our stay here. There were a few minor items when we checked in, but the host was able to get them resolved quickly. The location is great if you're spending time on the Hilo side of the island. The house comes stocked with pretty much everything you need for your stay. The kids loved the pool after some long days exploring. Would definitely look up this place again if we decided to stay on this side of the island again.

Beautiful property!
Beautiful lush tropical yard, gorgeous clean pool, comfy master bed, and lounge chairs that are genuinely comfortable! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and immediately felt at home there. We spent the majority of 3 days hanging out in the back yard! I absolutely would have taken the backyard home with me if I could have!

Beautiful quiet place
We loved our stay in this house, in a quiet neighborhood. There is a beach overlook (no water access) 0.7 miles down the road. The pool was clean and fairly warm. The layout of the house was great, lots of space, large kitchen, laundry room, 2 car garage, water toys… Groceries r a 10min drive, Hilo is 20 min away. We hope to come back again.

Happy New Year
The four of us enjoyed a week at Maureen and John's home, mahalo. It's in a great location for local exploring Hilo and Puna Districts, but we also made day trips to South Point and Hawi no problem. The home is beautiful and spacious, the kitchen has everything, and the pool and croquet set provided entertainment for our no drive days. Be sure to walk around the neighborhood, there are beautiful homes, the Beach Road cliffs, and lots of aloha.

Beautiful place. Exceeded expectations.
The lot and house setting was spetacular. The pool is larger than expected (and warm😊). The layout is great for families. The house has everything you need. Other reviews stated that it was far from Hilo and shopping for groceries. We felt that the location was PERFECT and allowed us to be close to many of the attractions on the Hilo side. If I return to “The Big Island” I would consider and attempt to reserve the home again.

Pleasant, private, and peaceful.
We've stayed here twice and hope to do so again - though it fills up early so we have missed a couple of opportunities. It is a lovely home with a delightful quiet and private back yard. The pool is nice too, though in February it's still a bit cool for frequent use. I love to sit on the lanai with a cup of coffee watching the birds exploring the back yard and occasionally dipping in the pool - they don't seem to have the same aversion to cold water that i do ; ^ ). The owner was particularly accommodating this time in helping with arrangements for us to celebrate a special occasion during the visit.

Everything you need for a private getaway!!!
My family LOVED it! The property is located in a nice neighborhood with big spacious private lots. Great location between Hilo and Volcano Park. The house had a perfect layout for a family to spend time together and moments apart. Everything needed in kitchen, laundry, etc and tons of books and games. The pool was one of the best feature - bigger and warmer than expected and clean. The kids never wanted to get out during the day and it was lovely in the evenings listening to the frogs. We made great family memories here!!! I would highly recommend this property. (Also, recommend in the area - Carlsmith Park for lagoon with turtles and Panaewa Rainforest Zoo which is free).

Paradise Park Gem
My wife and I and her two adult daughters stayed here for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The property is just beautiful and well cared for as though the owners lived there. The house was large and more than enough for the four of us and the pool was really nice. It has everything we needed and more. It is secluded with privacy and in a great neighborhood. Less than half a mile north is the trailhead for Puna trail, in the top five for best hiking trails on the big island. It ends at Hae’na beach, a nice sandy beach where we saw 17 turtles sunning. A mile north on Beach road is a bluff where you can watch the sunrise. Kaleo’s is a great restaurant and bar 5.5 miles away. The owner had very clear instructions and communicated promptly. I highly recommend this house for a great vacation in the Hilo area and would stay here again. Five stars, thank you.

Relaxing place in paradise
We recently stayed at this property in August and loved it! This home literally had everything we needed to start our stay from the little things to the big things! We travelled long and far so by the time we arrived at the property we had not had a chance to go to the store but it ended up not being a problem. The property surrounding the home was just stunning, we felt like we were in our own jungle oasis. We all enjoyed the pool very much! There is no Ac in the house but we were comfortable enough with windows open and fans on to sleep. I'd love to return to this rental property for a few days of R and R. Love the area, love the neighborhood and love Hawaii!

Wonderful private island oasis
It was great to get away from the weather on the mainland and explore this beautiful island. The pool area was super private and well maintained, a nice covered lanai kept us dry when it rained. Once you use the outdoor shower, you will wonder why you don’t have one at home. Spacious and well equipped kitchen and a nicely organized home information book was well appreciated. Beds were comfortable with high quality sheets and pillows. The garage with remote opener and driveway gate were welcomed luxuries. The only minor complaint we could think of is some of the furniture is starting to show its age.

A true 5-star accommodation
This property was perfect for our family! The house was clean, organized and well laid-out for us to enjoy full days at home or come back from a day of adventures and have all the equipment needed to make dinner and enjoy a restful evening by the pool, tv or with a board game. It was an absolute pleasure working with Maureen. Communication was clear, timely and just enough to make sure we had what we needed and know where to go if we didn't. The check-in/out and property instructions were easy to follow and not burdensome. If you're considering a vacation on the Hilo side of the Big Island and you're a couple or family that wants to be close to the shore with many outdoor adventures, in a home with a pool that's well laid out and properly appointed - this is the one for you. If your dates are available - snap them up, cause they'll go quick. We'll be back :0)

Prefect Private Getaway
Our family of five spent our first Christmas away from home in this lovely home. The house was perfect for our needs and was exactly as photographed. We specifically loved the tropical, private feel of the house. After a long day of adventuring, our kids loved coming home to swim in the pool. The location of this house was perfect for our sightseeing to-do list. We were able to drive all over the island and enjoyed the geothermal pool and tide pools near by. We were also close to the volcano, waterfalls, botanical garden, and farmers market on the East side of the island. My husband, who doesn't like to travel, is already planning our return trip. We would hands down stay in here again and we all agreed that we weren't ready for our time on The Big Island to end.

Thanks Maureen for allowing me to stay in one of the best places to be found on the Big Island
I visit the Big Island an average of two times a year and I always check to see if there is availability here on Beach Road. The out doors here gives life a new meaning. It has a pool with all the trimmings. There is a shaded area with outdoor table and chairs, grill, very large backyard and a nice and quiet place to read your favorite book when you’re not enjoying the pool. It’s all about the outdoors for me and this home caters to all of the elements. The indoors is well appointed to say the least. I highly recommend this home to any one who is looking for a relaxing home to base their stay in a centralized spot in the South Hilo area. Mahalo again Maureen for a treasured place for to spend my quiet time.

Privacy and Seclusion
This property is incredibly private. My wife and I were there with our 1 year old and our 3.5 year old. The pool is amazing and was used extensively. You have total privacy in the backyard. You will want to take a dip to cool off in the evenings as it does get a bit warm in the house throughout the day. I have seen comments about the loud frogs. They are load but added a nice background white noise that was not unpleasant at all for our sleeping. The ocean is a 15 minute walk to neat cliffs. No swimming there but good view points. We would come back anytime and hope to have the chance to do so.

Affordable luxury is the right name for this beautiful property
First of all, the almost immediate responses from the owner, Maureen, were impressive. The few times we needed to communicate over 10 days, she responded very quickly when not immediately. Second, the photos do not do justice to the home and, most of all, the pool. That pool made out granddaughter’s vacation: clean, warm, bigger that you would think. The outside shower was a treat. For the few people who felt this was too far or isolated from Hilo, maybe you should look up a property on Apple Maps or Google Maps; it could not be any clearer. It was less than 30 minutes from downtown Hilo, and we loved the peace and quiet. This STR has changed how our family will select a place in the future. If we return to the Big Island, we will adjust dates just to rent this place again.
