A terrific Stay
We had a terrific stay at the Kern River Retreat. The check in was super easy, the home was very clean and inviting. Well stocked kitchen and very comfy beds. The porch was a great place for morning coffee. The firepit and game room were a fantastic bonus.

Great Place for a Family!
We loved staying here with our family of 6 adults and 3 small children. It is very kid friendly with dishes for the kids, games to play, and twin beds. The indoor stove in the living room made it warm and cozy. We had all the items needed in the kitchen to cook our meals. The location was ideal and the mountain views were amazing!

We utilized the wrap around porch every morning and early evening and saw dear on the property. Great Family Time
Could not have asked for a better place. Our family has been camping at the Kern River area since I can remember. The Kern River Retreat home gave us so much more than we were expecting. Our family was able to enjoy all the comforts of home but also enjoy all of our camping adventures (cooking s'mores around a firepit, enjoying the river, playing games and cooking dinner together. Our grandkids could enjoy playing in the river and still take a nap at the house if needed. The Kern River Brewery and Pizza Barn did not disappoint. A few areas of concern were the broken drawers in the refrigerator and the back screen door lock was broken.

Perfect house for a perfect weekend!
The house is great and has everything you need for a comfortable stay! The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is well-equipped (and had both keurig and coffee pot options!), they deck is comfortable for enjoying sitting outside and watching deer and listening to the river off in the distance. We didn’t walk to down but it is a 2-3 minute drive. I want to come back and stay here longer next time!

We loved the place. It was perfect our family. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
The property was beautiful. It has a lot of sleeping room and everything was nice and clean and neat. My only recommendation would be to have a few instructions on the TV. It took a little bit to figure that out. Burton the host was so friendly and accommodating. It is amazing place to have family and all of them loved it.

Everything was wonderful! Booking was fast and easy! As well as the check in and check out process. They provide very detailed instruction's on how to check in. The house was very clean and tidy and has such a cozy feel to it! Really makes you feel at home! They provided everything you need, from shampoo and conditioner to cookware! You could really just pack your clothes and go! Overall, it was great! The entire family had a great time!

Outstandin Stay
Without any exaggeration this property was one of the best we ever stayed. Such high rating comes as a combination of the house, the cleanness, large front yard, amazin view, easy check-in, responsiveness of the hist and more. The home is very cozy, the kitchen is huge (which was very habdy for Thanksgiving), the bathrooms were sparkling clean. This was one of those rare vacation rentals that you do not avaid touching things. The host was very responsive, everything was as described. If you ha e pets, the front yard is perfect. One small thing to improve could be to replace a very small metal fragment in the fence from where small dogs may escape. The views are staggering. The town is very nice and clean. There are amazing hiking trails. We will deffinitely come back here.

Looking forward to coming back
This property and the host was great. Spacious and ammenties were wonderful. Close enough to the river for some family fun and yet remote to sit outside at night and be at peace with nature. We even saw deer each morning near the property which was a nice treat =). Certainly would recommend this place.
