The Tuck-Away @ The Starkey House is a one bedroom bungalow extension (and the perfect place to tuck-away) with a private entrance, outdoor shower, bikes, fenced in yard with darts & hammock swing, an indoor rain shower, king memory foam mattress, sound-proofed walls, a quaint kitchenette and so much more just steps from the Kerrville River Trail, the Guadalupe River and mere blocks from our Historic Downtown filled with coffee shops, cafes, and shopping.

The Tuck-Away is the back 1/2 of a 1950’s bungalow style home which is divided into two semi-attached private spaces(The Get-Away & The Tuck-Away) in almost a condo style fashion with double walls and soundproofing insulation. Each space feels like it’s own house with totally private entrances, privacy fenced outdoor spaces, and more. No spaces are shared.

Our wonderful little hideaway!
We absolutely love Tuck-Away! It is so private, comfortable and adorable. The check in is simple and the host is extremely nice and accessible. It was our second time there and we hope to come back next October!

Wonderful Oasis in Kerrville
We were actually amazed at how well-appointed and sparkling clean this little property is. She does not miss anything - from the stocked coffee bar and honor bar, to the list of local restaurants and so much more. I was not expecting it and was pleasantly surprised. She is an amazing host! The facility was very nice but lacked basic needs: bottle opener, spoons, dish soap. The refrigerator froze fruits, veggies, cheese, and wine. I was expecting an email or text on how to access the unit, before or on the day of arriving. Called and emailed twice. Check-in time was 4pm, but, did not get a text on how to access the unit until 5pm.

What a perfect place to spend the night before camp drop off. This was our second stay here, and we look forward to coming again. The bed and linens are very comfortable. We were surprised with the nice welcome sign welcoming Scooter & the treats sure came in handy even though we brought some. We loved the getaway “Tuck Away” house, just perfect for us! Lovely Weekend Getaway
My wife and I stayed here for a few days for our Honeymoon and it was lovely! The Tuck-Away was just as advertised and was super clean and comfy. It is located very close to a trailhead for the path by the river, and is close to the busy roads while still being out of the way and quiet. Everything was quiet and comfy, which is just what we wanted. We were surprised only once by voices through the wall, which we think was the cleaning crew in the attached Get-Away unit, but we were just caught off guard. The only issue we had was that the door lock didn't seem to like my wife. It worked just fine for me, but it gave her some difficulty when unlocking. :)

Wonderful!!
This was one of the BEST vacation rentals I’ve ever stayed in! It’s so cute, well done and has so many thoughtful touches. The bed is SO comfortable. The condo was immaculate, the courtyard was perfect for my little dog to run out first thing in the morning. The beautiful trail along the river is in close walking distance and though i didn’t use them, the owners even provide bikes! I communicated with Keri and she couldn’t have been nicer! What a delightful experience! Thank you!

Perfect Stay for Camp Pick-Up
We stayed for one night before picking our daughter up from camp, and it was the cutest place! I especially loved the location of the property and its close proximity to the river and numerous restaurants. We walked to dinner! The host was wonderful and so responsive as well. We loved our stay at the Tuck Away! Everything was just as it was described, very clean and lots of room! Beds are comfy and the bikes are a huge plus because we love the river bike trail! It’s also close to all the shops, restaurants and grocery store.

Kerrville quiet spot
Great location just across the trails along the Guadalupe river in a quiet neighborhood. Perfect for a short stay with comfortable bed and nice living space. I loved the backyard with picnic table, swing and outdoor shower. Bikes were available. We invited our sons to come over for pizza and Keri was flexible and allowed us to have guests. I would definitely stay there again.
