My husband and I were attending a play in nearby Princeton, Illinois, with Festival 56, a summer festival of s6 different plays, plus cabarets, and Shakespeare-in-the-park. In my search for a place to stay, this B and B came up. It is a beautiful old house that has been fixed up for a B & B with 4-5 rooms. The special part is that Monika is a fantastic chef, so the breakfasts are wonderful and different than the usual fare. On our first day, we had lemon-blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, bacon and was out of this world delicious. The coffee is made early in the morning so you can just come down and help yourself. You tell Monika and Jeff when you want to eat breakfast and voila it is ready on the dot. Also on the weekends, Monika prepares 5 course dinners--we also participated in this foodie experience and had delicious pork tenderloin with red pepper sauce, mashed sweet potatoes, salad, appetizer with scallops, creme brulee for dessert, etc. You can see what they are cooking in advance at their website. The rooms are set up so nicely--everything you could possibly want, plus chocolates in the room, peanut butter cookies in the cookie jar downstairs. Can't say enough!
