Advertisement said bed and breakfast, you paid for all food and drink! Stained towels. Room smells bad! Mattress needed replaced. Would not recommend this falsely advertised place. The whole place needed updated and refurbished. Good location though.

We wish there was a front desk to ask if we were at the correct place. Especially to advise us everything was ok when the fire alarms sounded. The pool could and outdoor areas could use some TLC.

Beautiful old mansion, not even a block from Duval street. But loud- you can hear the music late in to the night from Duval Street. Beautiful porch to sit on, nice pool area, property well-maintained. Needed some deep cleaning since there is a TON of woodwork and detailed panels and doors that were dusty, but the furniture was not, otherwise very clean. Would be nice if they had a locked room for visitor's luggage. Everyone left it in the parlor, and anyone can walk in.

No staff available; except at cafe. Facilities could use improvement as there was a lot of debris laying around. Disappointed about no coffee Machine or any service except for purchase at tiny counter. Floors in bedroom were dirty, our feet were black from dirt. Other B&B houses we have stayed at were cleaner and more pleasant.

You are paying strictly for location at this property (over $600 a night). The building needs some major renovations… a bit run down and tired looking. We couldn’t even get a cup of coffee in the morning at the hotel. There was an outlet in the room with no cover. Carpet was stained. Stairs up to the second floor were not well lighted. Parking was very limited. On the plus side it is very close to the downtown area… but it’s really lacks in basic needs.

Curry Mansion is beautiful and the room was big. I liked the extra sink outside the bathroom. Bed was comfortable, mostly quiet except for bathers late at night. We had a problem with the air conditioner control - only cold air during a (admittedly rare cold snap) and could not get any heat. No one available to come at night to fix it, so we were very uncomfortable the first night. After a few calls to remind someone to schedule repair, a repairman did come to fix it. Unfortunately, breakfast began too late for us to stay - early conference start - but we did have a drink on the veranda one evening. Lovely. I really miss having a person on site to talk to about any issues or questions. However, the people I spoke with on the phone were pleasant. We just never received confirmation of our issue. Our airco unit was plugged in, so we assumed someone had been there. We left it off and were comfortable the other 2 nights and gone most of the days. The location is excellent - we walked everywhere. Thank you for the mostly comfortable stay.

This property has taken a drastic turn from what it was a few years ago under previous management. When you walk in the front door you are greeted with a sign that welcomes you to a "self check in Guest House. There are no employees or staff on site other than the person that sells drinks on the porch. I called the number given in the event of a problem. The shower did not drain at all and was backing up. there were also 2 live roaches in the bathroom. The carpet in the room looks to be 20 years old and is badly stained. The bed was old saggy and anything but acceptable. It was discouraging to see how conditions of the property have been neglected, the front porch, the exterior of the main house is in disrepair and needs hefty help to get it back in shape. I called the maintenance number twice and had to leave a voice mail, that was never responded to and the shower was never fixed and no one every came to the room to look at any thing. The towels and linens need to be replaced and are old and dingy. I'm not one to complain or leave bad reviews but this was sad. If I had read the reviews before booking, I would have made different plans. Oh and the bathroom window doesn't have a latch to lock it. The music from Duval Street was VERY loud and went on until about 4 am. nothing that the Curry Mansion can do about that, but it is worth noting for future guests. Location is half a block off Duval so convenient to get around but hard to sleep.
