The listing is new but has been rented with a great track record for many years due to new ownership (Jan 24). You will be staying on the third floor in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo with 1,038 SF of living space overlooking an incredible hidden snorkel & swim beach (Chang's). You simply cannot get closer, or have better access, to better beaches in Maui without living on a boat.

Unit 303 is a large condo with a very private lanai that offers you unusual privacy and total seclusion from any kind distractions except for the symphony of the ocean's surf. You will enjoy a large living room with an oversized sectional sofa that connects with a small cozy dining room and includes a wet bar for your convenience. The kitchen has every convenience including an ice maker on the fridge and granite counters throughout. There is a wet bar in the living room as well.

The views and sounds of the ocean extend the entire length of the living and dining area with dual access from either side and are southerly, by direction; perfect for watching migrating humpback whales from January to March. The lanai benefits from unobstructed sunlight all day long which never glares in through the large windows of the condo allowing you to enjoy the ocean's view at any hour without ever needing to draw the curtains.

The primary bedroom is oversized with a large king-sized bed that has a private en-suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath and shower. The guest bedroom has two regular-sized twin beds with Jack-and-Jill access to the bathroom that also adjoins the hallway. The two bedrooms are situated away from the living area, making it ideal for families travelling with small children. The twin beds will be replaced by March 2024 with a full sized bed with an additional full sized trundle pull-out to allow extra sleeping occupancy in this spacious unit. Each bedroom has its own large, flat screen TV. The entire condo is air-conditioned (central) however the ocean breezes and rhythms of the sea are one of the true treasures of our location. Each bedroom enjoys large windows that fetch the sounds and smells of Maui.

The Makena Surf Resort will welcome you with a lei upon arrival and you will have many amazing amenities to keep you occupied right on the property including two amazing reclusive beaches, Chang's Beach and Po'olenalena (translates to "Yellow Head", aka "Paipu Beach"), BBQ outdoor terrace, tennis and pickle-ball courts, a large common pool and in-ground hot tub.

Chang's Beach is the small, postcard-sized, triangle-shaped, beach that your lanai overlooks and is known by locals for some of the best snorkelling in Maui. themauiexpert.com says, "if you're looking for a pocket of sand with exceptional snorkelling and not too many people, then Chang's Beach will be your favorite beach in Makena."

However, if you're looking to spread out a little, you can take a short walk to the west side of the resort and enjoy Po'olenalena Beach which is known for calm water and amazing sunsets. Themauiexpert.com said about this beach "when the water is calm the snorkelling can be fantastic, but during the summer there can sometimes be waves that stir up the visibility. That's good news for boogie boarders though, who often flock to this scenic beach break on any kind of south swell. This also one of the best places on Maui for watching the sunset, and you can pretty much count on a sunset wedding happening every day of the week."
