The Viking House is not the Four Seasons or the Ritz. What it is though is a clean, quiet, cozy and humble hotel set in some of the most beautiful surroundings you can imagine. The rooms are small and the beds are soft and if you want to cool your room down, open the window and allow the fresh sea air to blow in. There is no lift/elevator but it does have a couple of rooms on the ground floor if stairs are a challenge for you.
The restaurant in the hotel is also cozy. It attracts locals in the area as well as guests at the hotel. The food is very good with traditional Irish fare. We found the food to be some of the best we had during our time in Ireland.
There is a pub as well which also attracts some of the locals in the area. You will most likely make a new friend or two if you decide to ask about the region by sparking a conversation.
Set high up on a hill above the ocean, the hotel faces towards some spectacular sunsets.
We loved our stay here and it was one of the highlights of our stay in Ireland. I look forward to returning one day soon.
