Barn Loft with Mountain Views, minutes from Hanging Rock State Park

Enjoy an escape from the ordinary at Winsome View Farm - an active farm with beautiful views. This property is not handicap accessible and may be challenging for those with mobility issues due to stairs, DETACHED bathroom and uneven footing.

The main barn has evolved over the years from a tack room to a beautiful space to share with fellow lovers of nature. This two level barn features a kitchen area on the lower level with all you need for light cooking. The upstairs loft bedroom features a comfortable queen bed (2 adults), futon (1 small adult or 2 small children), recliner, Smart TV, closet, WiFi, and desk nook. The two levels are connected with a spacious deck offering views of Sauratown Mountain, Cook’s Wall and the hay fields. There is plenty of seating around the barn, around the fire pit, and indoors. The bathroom is adjacent to the barn (30 ft away - see bathroom details). The barn and bathroom have heat and AC for your comfort. We do not have a hot tub. It appears on the listing incorrectly. We no longer have horses on the property but our neighbor's horses may make an occasional appearance.

The kitchen is well stocked with essentials (refrigerator, freezer w/ice, microwave, hot plate, coffee maker, blender, toaster, pots/pans, utensils, gas grill, crock pot, wraps, dishes, paper products). Everything you need for a campfire is provided (wood, starter materials, roasting skewers), just bring your s'more supplies.

Dogs are welcome! Please let us know ahead of time if you are brining your canine companions so we can prepare for your stay.

Take in all Stokes County has to offer! Hike, fish, swim, zipline, kayak, tube, explore and then relax at the farm.

Perfect Getaway
Being from Southern California, we needed a relief from the heat, traffic and crowds. Laurel’s cabin-loft was the perfect retreat. Nestled between Hanging Rock State Park and Pilot Mountain State Park, hiking and park activities were second to none. Laurel had even mapped her multi-acre property for hiking and enjoyment. The eco system of birds and other wildlife on the property was great. The property itself was clean and well managed, perfect for evening cookouts and visits from friends. This was our first stay, but will not be our last. If you want a peaceful and quiet getaway, with nearby State Parks and a clean peaceful property, I highly recommend this location. Anthony & Marylou

Lovely, little getaway. Our dogs loved it. We loved it.
If you don't trust your dogs not to run off, they can still spend time outside off leash on the second floor patio. It's equipped with a functional door/gate to keep your dogs from going down the stairs. It's clean, well-stocked with everything that we could possibly need, and dog-friendly. The layout of everything is well thought-out, so even though the barn isn't huge, you've got a small kitchen with counter space and a fridge, small closet, desk, dining table, and plenty of seating inside and outside. Laurel was communicative and one of the more thoughtful hosts I've rented from. We would love to come back. I was a little worried about the separate toilet and shower, but it's actually really nice. Hot water, A/C unit to cut down on the humidity, space heater for those cold nights. It is a short walk from the barn and the path is well lit and level (little to no trip hazards). You might hear the occasional road traffic, but you can't see the road and it feels quite secluded. You definitely hear the wildlife all around (birds, bugs in early fall).Surrounded by greenery with a nice view of the mountain. There are many places to sit and enjoy the outdoors with multiple/different views.

Pastoral Delight
Winsome View was incredibly nice. We mingled hiking at nearby Hanging Rock State Park with sitting outside enjoying the pastoral surroundings. Unfortunately, Mother Nature did have her say but the hosts did everything possible that, rain or shine, we had a relaxing and enjoyable visit. I, particularly, enjoyed “exploring” the surrounding fields and woods. From all the amenities, it is obvious that Laurel and Jason know how to entertain. We’d like to return…

Fabulous and relaxing amongst beautiful nature
This is our second stay at the Barn Loft. Excellent hospitality provided by Laurel and her family at this fabulous farm property. Beautiful views of Hanging Rock State Park and Flat Rock/Shoal foothills; this is such a stunning part of North Carolina. The property has ample space for walks/trails, playing with the dog off leash, and so peaceful for relaxing out on the sheltered decking/patio areas of the barn. It is close to many hiking trails such as Hanging Rock, Pilot Mountain, Dan River and Stone Rock State Park to name but be a few. We booked the week over July 4th to avoid the fireworks/noise for the benefit of our dog who has significant anxiety pertaining to loud noises, this was our perfect getaway. A great place to grill, read and enjoy outdoor living come rain or shine. Very good WiFi service provided, important to my husband who had remote work commitments during our stay. Laurel has created a beautiful butterfly garden at the front of the barn which attracts nature for viewing, plenty of bird life and other wildlife to enjoy right on your doorstep. We thank Laurel and family for a most beautiful stay. Definitely a location on our save list.

Picturesque Mountain Getaway
My fiance and I stayed at Laurel’s barn loft with our two dogs and had the most wonderful time. You cannot beat the views and the weather in June was perfect. We live in Boston so this was such a nice escape for the dogs too to have so much space. Laurel was so accommodating and kind. We hiked hanging rock state park and went to the lower falls as well, would highly recommend!!

Serene and peaceful
The property is beautiful. I went for a self-care long weekend on my own. The space is comfortable and perfect for a easy get away in nature. I spent more of my time sitting on the porch, than inside. The property is rural, but doesn't feel completely disconnected. Close to 2 great hiking parks. Laurel was attentive and had the place stocked with the necessities and then some.
