This beautiful property adds more than a touch of luxury to holidays in one of South Devon's prettiest coastal villages, and is the perfect place to enjoy a family getaway or relaxing breaks with friends.

With its own entrance at the back of the building and a bright and airy atmosphere throughout, The Penthouse offers a well-equipped, luxurious holiday home that has fantastic views over the Ley, village and beach from its open plan living area and kitchen. Tasteful furnishings, modern features, and plenty of space for all means you'll feel right at home from the moment you step inside, while its three gorgeous bedrooms, two bathrooms and a washroom provide ample space for six guests, and the perfect base for exploring the delights of South Devon.

At The Beach is situated in the village of Torcross, set within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Steps away from the apartment are Slapton Ley Nature Reserve and bird sanctuary on one side and a three-mile shingle beach on the other side, which was used as a training ground for the US Army in the preparation for the D-Day in World War II.

The calm, safe waters are ideal for families. Positioned within easy reach of some of South Devon’s best beaches at Blackpool Sands, Hallsands and Thurlestone. The area is fantastic for coastal walks, bird watching and sight-seeing. If you want to explore further afield, Dartmouth (9 miles), Kingsbridge (7 miles) and Salcombe (13 miles) are within easy reach.

Good Housekeeping Bond
We ask our guests for a £250 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no claim. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.

For guest’s safety, 16 At The Beach has a motion sensor Ring Doorbell, which records guests and visitors when approaching the front door.

Perfect in every way
Regular communication from the property manager in the lead up to our stay. Travel and property entry details were clear and helpful. The property itself was spotlessly clean; spacious and light; with a well equipped kitchen with all your homely facilities; had convenient dedicated parking; and perfectly located for access to the beautiful areas around South Hams, and of course Torcross with its 3 mile beach and picturesque surroundings.

Superb apartment in an idyllic spot
Had a great time here with the family. Booking was simple and easy, the communication before the stay was the best I have experienced. Plenty of detailed information on the place and locality. On arrival there were biscuits and beer left for us which was a lovely touch. Parking was easy and just a 30 second walk away. The apartment itself was very well stocked, everything we needed was available. From coffee machines to wine fridge. Fans in all rooms (much needed), high quality fixtures and fittings all with easily accessible instruction booklets. We had a fabulous week.

This is a beautifully decorated mordern property with keen eye for detail including a baby gate and baby chair. The property managers were very responsive to my texts. Beach and little restaurants are a stones throw away. The village has shops and Spar and on the other side the black Sands beach is very accessible. Beautiful views from the house. One thing to note is for those who have difficulty climbing stairs, and carrying luggage up the stairs there are 2 flights of stairs and bit of walking in the building to reach the Penthouse when entered from the main door or if you choose to enter from rear entrance you will have steep slope and flight of stairs. The designated free parking was convenient. Over all we had a pleasant, stress free enjoyable stay.

Lovely apartment in great location
The apartment was lovely..lots of space and games to entertain the children. The location is excellent not only for the beach immediately in front but also for getting to lots of great places in South Devon. A great base for visiting the area. Unfortunately a previous occupant appeared to have broken the washing machine and not reported it so it wasn’t useable. However the managing company reacted quickly and it will be fixed for future occupants. The only other request is a manual for the coffee machine and the hob. Having been directed to the magnet to operate the hob we still couldn’t figure it out! Overall an excellent stay, thank you.

Best apartment
If you can cope with all the steps this is a great apartment and the views are wonderful of sea and countryside. Everything you need is there. It's right next to the pebble beach (quite a steep slope into the sea) and there are lots of other lovely beaches and places to visit nearby (don't expect to get anywhere quickly, though, as the country lanes are narrow).

How to get over Christmas
An excellent situation for exploring wonderful countryside and for looking out on it when it rained. As six adults and one 9 mth old we found the apartment very well equipped and especially appreciated the large and open plan kitchen/lounge and its excellent views of the sea and fresh water lake. The two upstairs bedrooms have the disadvantage of being in the roof, leading to the necessity to duck to avoid hitting ones head and the number of steps leading to the apartment might not suit everyone, but we found these minor issues and would certainly consider returning.

Peace and Quiet
We have been regular visitors to 'On the beach' for over ten years and love it. Weather was spectacularly rough this time so spent a little bit more time inside than normal. Lovely apartment with everything you need but the sofa in this one does need changing. I have got old and it's just uncomfortably low!:=). Our thanks as always.. The Baldwin.
