"If I could give this place ten stars, I would. Welcome sherry or whiskey upon arrival was a nice surprise. The place was elegant but homey; I never felt like I had to dress up for anything. "The hotel was a lovely place to stay. There were some issues with cleanliness in our room, hair in the bathroom, old food packaging under the bed. All issues that are easily resolved. We would stay at the hotel again. The staff were lovely and would do anything to assist you. There is a train station not far that takes you straight into the City centre and takes around 7 minutes. "The hotel in general is very good, at a very convenient location; walking distance to Edinburgh castle and train station. The room is good sized with good facilities, I.e bug TV ,coffee machine etc. The only flaw is that there is a water nosie at all times very disturbing at night otherwise the room is very quiet. "

"I cannot anything but wonderful things about the Roseate hotel and staff. They are top-notch, and so accommodating! We arrived early after a red-eye and they made sure our room was ready and gave us a latte and cappuccino as we checked in. They honored all the VIP benefits, including free parking, a bottle of wine, and free continental breakfast. Beautiful homes and location that is on the bus line and walkable to all the sites. I highly recommend!"

Great family friendly hotel, staff were amazing!

"Stayed at hotel for a random one night weekend family get away. I read the usual reviews prior to booking which was enough for me to take a chance. I must say, the hotel did not disapoint, the staff were friendly, hotel clean and the grounds were gorgeous. When you travel with children it can often feel like your in the way of other hotel guests, especially couples who are wanting that romantic trip away. What stood out for me was that we didnt feel in the way, maybe it was the size of the hotel, layout or just how it was ran but the staff and guests were all so nice, the children were welcomed and the pool area was the biggest hit! We originally booked a double family room but were offered an upgrade (for a 40 pound fee, to be paid on arrival) to a junior suite which we went for, the room was massive with a living room for kids to run around in and a super king bed however the 2nd bed was a sofa bed, the orginal booking had two double beds. I think next time we would probably go smaller and keep the double family room but use the extra money to pay for two nights. As I type im trying to think of areas for improvement but in all honesty nothing springs to mind right now, the kids were sad to leave so for me thats the biggest indicator of a decent hotel, no stressed parents and happy children. Were already thinking of re-booking for easter. "
