Gone Fishing cabin- family-friendly, riverfront & minutes from East Branch Lake.
10/10 Excellent
"My family attended a family wedding the week a the Dam Inn and reserved both Gone Fishing and Barely Awake for the weekend. We found both properties to be very clean, nicely furnished and looked to be almost brand new. Both cabins are situated with the North Branch of the Clarion river running through the back of the property. When we did have free time, it was spent enjoying the early fall weather in the comfortable chairs around the firepit. If we would have had more time, we certainly would have taken advantage of the fire pit, fishing opportunities in the back yard or kayaking down the river. The two cabins are appoximately 30 yards appart and you can easily walk between them in the grass path or the gravel roadway. The only caution that I would give is that the cell service is very limited in that area of Elk county so calling or GPS service is difficult to get. If you are not familiar with the area, make sure that you print out a map and load the address into your directional app prior to leaving St Mary's as it's not available near the cabin. Also, plan on texting with members of your party as the cell service in the area is very schetchy.Everyone commented that they would have like to have spend more time at the cabins."
"The property was very nice staff very accommodating. I like the fact I was able to bring my dog. The only disappointing moment was during breakfast. I wanted to just go grab a muffin and a coffee and the woman who’s running the area, that’s just adjacent to where you’re allowed to bring your dogs, said I couldn’t bring her into the area. I wasn’t gonna sit. I just wanted to get a cup of coffee and go back to my room, she was the only unpleasant person I bumped into my whole visit. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel."
"The estate was breathtaking! We got so many picture’s taken on property and I cannot wait to see them! The house had everything from glasses for mimosas (as we were getting ready for our wedding day) to emergency sanitary products. The beds were super comfortable and we had more than enough room for everyone that stayed with us! We had some children with us as well and my son still asks us if we can go back to the “big house” to play. It was really lovely having a designated area for kids to rest and play during our stay.Being on property for our big day was so essential for how smoothly our wedding day went! We were able to store our food and drink in the kitchen the night prior and move everything to the pavilion the next day, this saved us so much time and reduced our stress significantly! The owners are also extremely nice and had everything ready to go for us! We are so happy we had the opportunity to stay at the estate and have our wedding day there as well - The Fauvers This past Saturday we had my son's wedding at the Rich Valley Estates in Emporium PA. The owners of this beautiful location were accommodating, helpful, and super respectful of our needs for this special day. The venue was breathtaking! We were surrounded by trees and a babbling brook. Because the venue was so out of the way we thought we would have to bring generators to have music and light. To our surprise, there were dozens of outlets to use. I can't thank you enough for how amazing this locatio"
"This was a beautiful historic mansion that was very nice inside and out. It is a nice quiet and extremely safe neighborhood and I would stay there again. The only thing I can suggest is that they get better pillows. They were as thin as pancakes and were hard to sleep with. I’m sure they would have rectified the problem, but we came in very late and I was too exhausted to even deal with that."
