The cottage is warm and welcoming, well laid out and tastefully furnished, combining contemporary furnishings with a cottage feel. The well-equipped kitchen opens onto a delightful, enclosed rear garden with a fabulous hot tub set on a raised covered deck. Enjoy an al fresco meal prepared on the barbecue while relaxing on a sunny afternoon. Lovers of coffee and glorious homemade food are equally well catered for, the cottage being in walking distance from one of Angus’ hidden treasures, the owner’s café, perfect for coffees, lunches and cakes, ideal after a leisurely walk round the loch.
Lintrathen is host to a plethora of wildlife including otters, ospreys, wildfowl and breeding songbirds, with observation hides sited round the loch. There is fishing, with permits available from the local angling club and there are numerous walks and cycle trails in the surrounding area. Dundee is only a short drive away, with the V&A design museum, the RSS Discovery ship and Verdant Works, a restored mill housing interactive displays, all of which are must-see excursions to the city. There are golf courses abound in the area and hillwalkers are well catered for in the surrounding countryside. The Cairngorms National Park, the Malt Whisky Trail and the ski centre at Glenshee are all within easy reach, offering a wide range of activities whatever the weather and time of year. Beach 25 miles. Shop and pub 6½ miles, restaurant 7 miles.
