A unique experience

It was a unique experience. A hotel in the top of the mountain in a very quiet area. Very nice and helpful personal and we felt that its a privat hotel just for us. Thanks for every person working in this hotel

Planters House was fantastic! The team were all so lovely and welcoming, and the views are honestly to die for. Being located up in the mountains, surrounded by nothing but tea, was just beautiful and so peaceful. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, instead you order what you want at what time you want it, which is such a unique experience. As others have mentioned, the hotel is a Jeep-ride up a steep mountain which adds to the experience and sense of adventure. The hotel is a little rough around the edges and not as polished as the pictures, but for us this added to the charm.

Incredibly attentive staff and such a special stay. Wish it had been longer! The perfect place to relax, recharge and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Make sure you allow for ample time for Lipton’s Seat hike and it’s a great idea to bring school supplies, snacks, etc. for the children in the villages on your way up.

Never have I had to ride 45 minutes up into a tea plantation to get to a hotel but it made it all the more special. Staff lovely if not a little unqualified but it adds to the charm of this colonial Plantation house Fantastic infinity pool, amazing birds and sounds, views to die for, comfy period bedrooms with its history oozing from every corner Ought to be all inclusive as frankly once there one isn’t going anywhere. Bring a good book and indulge

From the pick up from Haputale train station by the hotel’s 4 wheel drive to the welcome received @ Planters House the helpfulness of the staff the room the food all were exceptional. I cannot rate this place high enough. Mark the owner was extremely helpful prior to me booking and advised on our provisional itinerary which was a great help . The wonderful Malinda and his team made our stay at The Planter’s House so enjoyable. We were the only guests staying so it felt more like our private home which I think it still would do even with other guests. The bumpy ride up to the house is all part of the experience and enables the place to feel remote and special. The house and location is stunning - beautifully decorated in beautiful grounds with breath taking views, most especially from the swimming pool. We walked to Lipton’s Seat, visited Dambutene Tea Factory, watched films by fire light - my only regret was not staying an extra day and night to really savour the specialness of this place. A big thank you to Malinda and his team.

Lovely property, we had a great experience! Only 6 rooms, very cosy and beautiful overlooking a tea plantation, surrounded by mountains, with pool and many activities to do like hiking to Lipton's Seat. Very welcoming staff on-site. Highly recommend!
