Overall ok
Nice location, overall in good condition and clean, but breakfast is very basic and not of very good quality. Better to take a room with balcony otherwise no place to dry your clothes after swimming. Be aware, there is no elevator and up to 4 floors. It is reasonably priced though.

Affordable but isolated and basic
We made Kusadasi our home base for 2 nights in order to make day trips to Pamukkale and Ephesus. We reserved a family suite, and were mainly seeking clean comfort, family-friendly amenities, and access to Kusadasi's main attractions (which would also make for a good location for tour pickups). We found Kusadasi to be limited in terms of A-grade hotel options, so relative to that, we'd give Hotel Melis a 'fair' rating. Pros: • Beach access to the Aegean Sea. Clean and quiet enough. Nice/peaceful views of sunset. • Family-friendly environment. Decent pool that kids at hotel seemed to be enjoying. • Affordable, with okay room and location. Breakfast was included for us. Cons: • Isolated from Kusadasi town. Nothing in walking distance except gas station where we picked up snacks for early morning start (hotel breakfast open at 8 am which is right when tours pick up). • Tiny bathroom, bad toiletries, no hot water. • Run-down and sparse rooms. No fan in kids' room. Hotel's portable fan was in high demand. • Bad wi-fi. Had to borrow front desk's personal hotspot to confirm second day tour. • Staff was nice, but only 2 people seemed to speak a little English. We were baffled that they did not recommend any main attractions or restaurants, instead letting us order expensive dinner at hotel the first night. We nearly missed Ladies' Beach, Long Beach and the bazaar, if it weren't for our own research or tour guides.

Clean and in a decent state of repair. Wonderful position where we could fall from the balcony straight onto the beach. The staff are always cheerful and helpful. A great experience for a budget price. Wonderful!

Hidden Gem right on the Beach!
Great choice for those wanting a comfortable, quiet hotel with great amenities at an affordable price. We were going to stay 3 days and ended up staying 6 days because we enjoyed it so much. Melis is a small, almost boutique hotel located in a popular area just south of "Ladies Beach", a popular tourist beach in Kusadasi. The main building has 4 floors and there is a separate building across the street for those wanting a cheaper room not right on the beach. The grounds are garden-like with many trees and flowering plants. It has a very nice, clean outdoor pool that overlooks the Aegean Sea. There is also an on-site restaurant in which the chef(s) prepare fantastic meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Of course we took advantage of the complimentary breakfast buffet every morning which consists of all the Turkish favorites (eggs, cheeses, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, bread, cereals, fruit, and much more! But we also enjoyed many dinners there as well. They have a varied menu with just about anything you might want. The entire staff is very attentive and friendly. They are always busy assisting guests or maintaining the facility. One thing that the hotel doesn't have is an elevator. If you're staying on the 4th floor, you'll get quite a workout coming and going! If you have limited mobility, be sure you get a ground floor room. The beach is a little rocky and has a lot of sea grasses that wash up on shore, but not bad. Overall, very pleased with everything.
