Beautiful location!
We had a wonderful two weeks staying at The Little Stone Villa..
Nick & Linda are wonderful hosts...great communication, very helpful with directions & nothing was too much trouble...
After a busy few days soaking up Athens & the Parthenon, Little Stone Villa provided a peaceful, relaxing, away from it all break..the pool was fantastic (make sure you meet Robert the pool cleaner! ;) and we spent most of our time there...
The area is stunningly beautiful which you could appreciate from up on the Terrace or down by the pool...the villa provides a view across the valley to 'Boobie' mountains & right down to the amazing blue sea!
The villa is located on the side of the hill so an SUV or 4x4 is very handy especially with 4 adults & luggage...Linda will meet you & show you the way down to the villa...
Locally you have Enoria, Kymi & Platana...Kymi was a bit tricky to get out of once in there as there are lots of one way systems but Linda's advice is to park up just outside and walk in...there is a good supermarket there and also another large one on the road out of Kymi going North....however there are smaller mini-markets, a butcher & green-grocers down in Platana, which is only 10 minutes in the car...there is also a good Pharmacy on the left as you enter Platana, the Pharmacist spoke good English & was very friendly & helpful....Nick's advice was to stop at Lidl in Aliveri & stock up there with all the larger items..lots of restaurants along the front but our favourite seafood place was with Yianni at the Koutelou Tavern behind Glykos Pastries just to your left as you enter the village...the food was the best I've ever tasted..I had Prawns with spaghetti, simple but the flavours were outstanding! We went back the next night & chose our freshly caught fish....
We also went in Glykos Pastries for brunch one day and served by the very friendly Maria who spoke good English...nice spot to gaze over the blue sea while having a drink or snack....
Lots of choice & Linda is happy to recommend places....
We did venture up to the Moni Sotiros where visitors are allowed up to 12:30. The nuns allowed us to walk around the Monastary & opened a door at the top where you can walk out on to the rooftop & be greeted with a stunning view! You aren't allowed in the church but a nice few hours out & about...
It is very quiet so you won't find lots of tourist shops or lively night-life...Little Stone Villa is a peaceful spot to un-wind & soak up Greece..perfect!
