Nestled in one of Norway's many fjords, the location of this property it top notch. It's a small community, so it is very quiet, so you are able to relax and enjoy the natural beauty all around you. Balcony overlooking the fjord was a nice touch.

Spacious a d clean twin room. Good location with great lawn area seating on the side of a calm fjord bay, with dramatic mountains on both sides. Nearby town has lovely old buildings and nice cafe at the arts centre. Dinner buffet was expensive but very well stocked with various foods, and breakfast also plentiful

Excellent location alongside the fjord with a very nice garden with tables. Good room and bathroom . Excellent breakfast in a nice dining room, although rather overcrowded on our visit with two large tour parties.

Pleasant fjord stay
We booked same day. It was a good value and included breakfast. Dining area was very nice. Room was basic but had what we needed. Only complaint was that we had single beds and I’m not used to that-felt like I might roll off. Great view of the fjord.

Modern claim rooms
The only reason we stayed here is because it was halfway from where we were driving to get to Bergen. The Rooms are clean and modern the staff is very friendly and the breakfast buffet is good.

Location, Location…
An wonderful hotel in an excellent location. Dinner and breakfast were buffet style and served in an airy room with a view over the fjord. Other reviewers had made mention of the tour coaches - that almost put us off, but don’t let it! The coaches allow the hotel to offer the level of service that it does - take advantage of it!

This place is amazing. We drove from Oslo to Bergen and we stayed at this place over a night. It was amazing experience to live right across the fjord with great views. The staff were quite friendly. We had buffet for the dinner (around 35 USD per person) at their restaurant which was great with lot of options. The breakfast buffet (included in the booking) the next morning is great too. Highly recommended for any one driving by or want to spend the time in Laerdal.

Even the hotel doesn't look to appealing when entering the premises and also has a bit of a 70s feeling in the public areas: We had a renovated (complementary upgrade) room facing to the fjord, don't know how non-renovated rooms look like. Staff was very friendly and a good breakfast buffet was offered. They do have a calm, fjord-facing garden where you can have a drink or simply relax.

Great stay
We stayed here for three days on our latest trip to Norway and it was lovely. We chose a room with a view of the fjord and it delivered. We chose to have dinner here our first evening and the restaurant was fine, so was breakfast - both done as a buffet. There was plenty of parking, and even EV charging for a flat overnight fee. You can tell the property has been recently renovated. The only issue we had (not the hotels fault) was some very obnoxiously loud music from the nearby campground but it stopped by 22:00 each night. It was a good value and if traveling by car, I’d stay here again.

Arrived at check-in after 5pm.. there were no other restaurants in the vicinity that were open. This hotel has dinner buffet that did not disappoint (although it was somewhat pricey, the food was very good and the selection was great).

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Basic, bad breakfast, but OK views and rooms
A very basic hotel, which clearly is getting quite old now, which you can feel and see almost everywhere in the hotels exterior and some of the interior. If the price is right (low), and it is a short stay, I can recommend this Hotel. Positive things: 1) Location in good, but for exploring the Vestland of Norway with its fjords and lovely nature. Lærdal is a “middle sized” village, with good supermarket options (two big ones, EXTRA and KIWI). There is also Villaks centre, which is a museum for the history of salmon fishing. Quite interesting actually, is was pretty modern and newly refurbished. There are good views of the Fjord, but NOT from all windows in the hotel. You can sit outside and eat breakfast if weather allows. 2) Friendly and effective staff. Both the reception and restaurant was run by quite young but great staff. Breakfast buffet was quickly filled up, and tables cleared. 3) Room was actually OK, and quite newly refurbished. Bed was quite new, a good TV, but NO MINI BAR and NO Coffee / Tea facilities ! Negative things: 1) Quite expensive for what is was, during summer time. 2) Breakfast buffet was VERY limitied. Basically some bread, a few different types of cheap cured meats as ham, a few sliced cheeses, 1 type of fruit yoghurt and two cereals (no sugary ones), scrambled eggs, sausauges, baked beans. NO SALMON or quality items in the buffet. Ive had better breakfast at bed&breakfast places and 2 star hotels.
