The Hacienda was designed after a traditional Mexican Hacienda by my grandmother with no detail overlooked. From the terracotta tile throughout the house to the traditional columns found both inside and outside, when you walk into this house you feel like you have been transported to another country. The Hacienda has an evaporative cooler, Swamp Cooler, to keep the house cool during the Summer and central heating for winter. This home sleeps 6 in 4 beds, 2 Twins, 1 Queen and 1 Cal King
The roads to this house are dirt, as are most roads in this area, but they are well packed and you do not need 4x4. With check in information I provide detailed directions on how to EASILY drive to the house on a packed dirt road with minimal bumps.
The Hacienda is a sprawling 1700 sqft, single story home with a large master suite, guest room, formal dining room, living room with TV, fully stocked kitchen and foyer/sitting room with space to spare.
As a family who cooks a lot, we have a fully stocked kitchen from pots and pans to toasters, mixers and a small Cuisinart. We also typically have cooking spices, oil, sugar and flour, but do not guarantee these items as some guests clear out our pantry while other like to add. The stove is a gas stove that uses propane, so the burners get HOT.
The Hacienda is an open floor plan so when you enter through the kitchen, you will immediately see the living room/TV area and formal dinning room. Once past the kitchen bar you will see the guest bedroom with 2 twin beds and the guest bathroom. The guest bedroom has a large closet and small dresser with 3 drawers. The guest bathroom has a good-sized shower with tiled seat and this bathroom is where our washer and dryer are located.
Just down the hall is our Foyer where you will find our designated work area and the entrance to our fenced in backyard.
After passing through the French doors outside you will see a large covered patio, flower beds and two grassy areas where pets and kids can play. In the backyard you will also find a BBQ for your use. We do not provide Charcoal or Lighter fluid, but we do have BBQ tools in the house and a BBQ cart for your use.
In the back of the Hacienda is a large Master Suite. This suite alone is about 700 sqft and has 2 sleeping areas, a large shower, a small toilet room, a pedestal sink with medicine cabinet, a small chaise lounge and a walk-in closet. In this room you will find a Cal King bed with 2 bedside tables and a Queen bed with one bedside table. There is also a large dresser with 9 drawers located in front of the Cal King bed.
The Hacienda is located on a 4 acre property that is shared by our 2 other cabins. In the event you are looking for a larger BBQ, there is a communal BBQ area down between the cabins that all guests can use. Please be courteous by not being to loud, nor leaving a mess.
As mentioned, this house uses evaporative cooling (Swamp Cooler) as Air Conditioning. This type of cooling is very common in desert communities as it both cools and humidifies the air in the house. During the winter months this house also has central heating and a fire place for your use.
As this is a pet friendly property, there is a pet fee of $75 per stay.
Due to our pine tree forest sap is a concern. Should you decide to walk around and enjoy the property, please look at your shoes before entering the houses. Should you get sap on yourself or your pet an effective way to get it off is using olive oil.
It is very rare, but on occasion the power can go out at this property. As this is a rural area sometimes the power company turns off the power for safety reasons or for updating their equipment. We do our best to keep guests updated on these situations, but we also ask for your understanding while we work through any issues if they come up.
We ask that you do not put tents up on the property without asking beforehand.
If you move any furniture during your stay, please put it back where you found it. If furniture has been moved and not put back, you may be charged with a fee.
Should you use any games in the back yard, croquet or cornhole, please put it away before departing.
Due to the fact that this property is in the upper desert, we have automatic sprinklers that go on once a day in winter and up to 3 times a day during summer. We ask that you do not turn these sprinklers off.
On this property is a spa that is currently not operational. We ask that no guests get into this spa as it is not regularly cleaned nor filtered. While this spa does not have a fence, there is a lid on it to keep children and pets safe from falling in.
This property has a shared exterior space with our other cabins and we ask that you be courteous to the other renters. The BBQ area between the 2 cabins is also a shared area, so we ask that you be aware of other renters when they are present.
This house has a Ring Doorbell that points to the front patio area outside the kitchen door. There is also 1 security camera that faces the apricot tree in the backyard and 1 that faces the road behind the house by the shed. The other houses on this property also have Ring Doorbells that face in front of their front doors as well.
