The only thing charming about this property is the proximity to the charming Main Street in Lake Placid. Upon arrival, the parking area was not shoveled/plowed and we had to find a shovel to remove snow to get our car into the “free parking.” The 3 bedroom apartment has terrible lighting, no ventilation, and the bathrooms have old leaky showers and barely connected toilets. The kitchen is lacking basics - there isn’t a single coffee mug provided - and the refrigerator wasn’t working when we got there (we found the circuit breaker and figured it out). All thermostats were set at 80 degrees when we arrived and we immediately turned them down because it was so warm. Later that night we found out that if any heat comes on (set at 60), the sound of the heating system meant constantly being awakened - we went without heat at night thereafter. The beds are fine but the pillows are awful (we all have stiff necks). The television never worked, the WiFi was weak and intermittent, and the washing machine and dryer were gross (we may have been the first people to clean the lint collector).
The apartment was near White Face, which we skiied for two days and totally enjoyed. We would not return to this apartment and don’t recommend it.
