Nice house, with a few caveats
Nice spacious house located in a forested area near Huntington Lake. The house was clean when we arrived. It could use some general maintenance, & there were mice in the kitchen.

It was ok
We didn’t get any communication back from the property manager , besides the house was not very clean and there were mice inside and ate our bread.

Awesome location close to skiing
The layout and location of the home is great if you are going skiing. Be forewarned to bring ALL amenities you need though, as there are no stores nearby and the home is not stocked with even salt and pepper. The bathroom and kitchen are clean…but the rest of the home needs a good scrubbing. Again, can’t beat the quiet & convenient location!

Needs deep cleaning
The place neededs one good deep clean. My wife was pretty upset when we arrived. Main carpet it pretty dirty with stains that can easily be removed with one wash. Tables with glass tops needed cleaning too, alot of smudges. The restrooms were unacceptable. The white shower curtain was black and dark of grime or mold. We had to remove them to shower. Kitchen was ok, rooms were ok. Most window seals were full of spider webs and dead insects too. My wife spent 1-2hrs cleaning.

Great place to meet up with family
The location was great for a place to get away from the city and be in place with very nice weather. The home had a perfect set up for families with multiple adults and children. It was easy access to recreational areas, fun hikes, and water activities. There was plenty of towels, bedding, and kitchen supplies. The place could use a carpet cleaning and had some maintenance issues that need to be addressed.

Great Place
Great location for skiing. Lots of rooms were a plus. Only mishap was that a mouse had gotten into one of the rooms downstairs before we arrived and left mouse poops on the bed. (came in through the door to the garage, or outside. No big deal. The house was very clean otherwise.

New Years in Lakeshore
Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, but the place was pretty dirty when we arrived. I actually had to take pictures and send them to the rental agency. There were used q-tips on the floor in one of the bedrooms, as well as underwear and an old beanie under a bed. Also, we found a piece of dried meat behind the cable box, a chewed piece of gum on a window sill, an old sock, and cobwebs in the kitchen. I loved the location and access to the mountains, but the place was really dirty, especially the rugs.

Solid multi-family choice for easy China Peak access
Really nice house for a couple/few families. Good-sized rooms, plenty of beds, a bonus hidden large closet that sleeps your "I love forts" kind of kid really nicely, and good central heating for the downstairs. We didn't try the fireplace upstairs, but if it were any colder we would have and there's wood out in the shed. The kitchen is more than adequately sized, compared to some other places in this size/price range. Nice snow play area right out the back for making igloos and having snowball fights. Not much for sledding though. Overall, great place to stay. Words of caution: Parking: Three cars fit in the driveway. That's it, no more. And there's no street parking. Trash: We got caught off-guard in that all trash is expected to be removed by the guest and brought to... well, you have to figure it out. I'll tell you this, the dumpsters at the hotel down the way are NOT an option (and the hotel owners are NOT happy with Vrbo about it). With a loaded car, this was a bit unpleasant trying to squeeze three days' and three families' worth of trash in for the drive down the hill... Access: The key lockbox (use the top one) is "sticky" to the point where I thought I had the wrong code. Keep trying, I guess. It finally worked for me. Cell: No reception, or not on Verizon at least. Other than those little things, we loved the place and will definitely rent it again.

Lack of communication and customer service
To start the location was great and the place itself was very spacious. However, there were many other issues that cause me to give it a one star overall. We booked this place with the intention to go to Chinapeak and ride some bike trails for Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, the week of everything shut down. We contacted management in order to attempt to cancel since we wouldn’t be able to do anything while staying there, to which they responded “you can get to the cabin so no canceling.” Although frustrated we decided to make the best of it. This just got harder once we got there. First the list a deck with a nice view, however the deck was off limits because they had applied a lacquer. They also list in the amenities a bbq so we took food to bbq. The BBQ was on the deck that was off limits so all of our dinner plans were now out the window. They have a huge coffee table which is nice, but it was covered in some sticky residue. There are no cleaning supplies other than dish soap so I just wiped it down with dish soap. They had an empty bottle of soap in the main restroom and for some reason the water down stairs had foamy white tint. It also smelled like smoke downstairs. Normally I’d ignore some small inconveniences but the fact that they didn’t even attempt to discuss the cancellation when they knew we wouldn’t even be able to BBQ or use the deck is frustrating. They could have at least warned us about not being able to use the deck. We planned to BBQ all weekend and ended up having to eat out. Just total lack of good communication and customer service.

House Great! Cleanliness Not so much
The house size and rooms were perfect for our family. All the appliances worked and the kitchen was well stocked. Unfortunately it wasn't clean when we arrived. We waited for 2 hours (past the contracted arrival time) for the service to put clean sheets on the beds. We cleaned all the surfaces ourselves and vacuumed the entire house (with as very dirty). I'd recommend the home - with the understanding that the home would be properly cleaned before our arrival.

Average stay near Shaver Lake
We were 10 people, including 8 adults and 2 kids. There are a lot of beds to accommodate us. The location was nice, and it is easy to communicate with the property manager. We had a few concerns. The first one is it was not very well cleaned. The bathrooms (especially the basement one) were not very clean. There were no soaps/shampoos for bath use, which is very rare as per our earlier experiences. The address mentioned in the property is not correct although driving directions were okay. If I give the address mentioned in google map, it says the address does not exist.

February weekend getaway
We had 2 families stay for 3 nights. Our hope was to be there when there was snow to play in. We missed fresh snow, but there was older snow on the ground. Two couples each took one of the bedrooms downstairs. We were quite sure they were NOT queens, as advertised, but were fulls. Some of the adults were very uncomfortable in those beds, and others were OK. The one bedroom upstairs, near the kitchen, is a larger bed. We gave that one to our elderly grandparent that came with us so he wouldn't have to use the stairs. We had 4 kids that shared the room with all the beds together. That worked out great! That room looked to have 2 fulls and 2 singles. It could comfortably sleep 6 kids no problem. We used the wood burning stove for heat and I must say it really cranked out the heat! The upstairs was so toasty we had to open windows. Unfortunately, not all the windows are in good working order, so be careful! The property manager needs to assess the windows. Some don't stay open properly and some are missing screens. There was a nice supply of wood for us to use during our entire stay. The kitchen was great. We mostly had all our needs met. The plates, bowls, and cups are made in a way that isn't the most efficient in the dishwasher, so you may have to run extra loads. They are large and bulky and don't nestle well in the dishwasher. Tons of kitchen accessories and utensils. We did need to use our own salt, pepper, and sugar. The refrigerator/freezer worked fine, as did the drip coffee maker and toaster. Just outside the house, in between this house and it's neighbors, is a perfect hill to sled on. It's not super long, but totally fits the bill to just walk outside and play for a bit. We also loaded into the car and went to the nearby sledding park. It's only like 10 minutes away. Very convenient for our kiddos to burn off energy. We couldn't get the TV to work the way we thought it was supposed to. The satellite wouldn't connect. We weren't really interested in having the TV on anyway. We watched one movie that happened to be saved on the DVR and that was all we did on the TV. We didn't really use the porch off the kitchen much, but it's a nice porch with a good view. We did use the grill out there one night and it worked fine for our needs, with all the necessary supplies. Both the main entry door upstairs, and the entry door downstairs by the bedrooms, have a perfect place to kick off shoes and wet clothes to hang up. No need to track any of that mess into the house. There is a lot of hanging space and room for shoes and sleds. There were no games. So if you want to busy yourself in the home with games or puzzles, bring your own. The big table by the couches could easily fit a puzzle, if you want to sit on the floor.

Annual Snow Trip
Our group has been going to and loving Heers cabin for over 20 years. We love the location, the multiple bedrooms/sleeping areas and full kitchen. There is a snowmobiling trail within walking distance which was fantastic for snowshoeing.

Great location, no communication with property owners.
The neighborhood was great and the house was fine. There were a few main problems that tainted our stay. The door lock didn’t work. I got the key out of the key box and the door handle would lock if you pushed down, but you could still open it when pushing up. Emails weren’t returned and texting got no reply. There is no phone service. Also, you can hear everything throughout the house Through the vents. This wouldn’t be a big deal for certain groups, but ours kids all wake up at different times so once one is up everyone is up. Also, you have to haul out your own trash. Other than those things I really loved the location, the neighborhood, the kitchen and lots of extra pillows and blankets. No communication with rental Company and when I finally did get someone on the phone they said they were backed up by 40,000 emails.

Lots of room
We had 5 couples in our group and there was lots of room for everyone- 4 bedrooms, large living room, adequate kitchen with large table, and room for all on the patio. We were humored by the free ranging cows in the neighborhood. My only complaint is that the outlets are not tight enough to keep plugs in them. We had a great time!

Perfect House and Location
Located about 20 minutes between Shaver and Huntington Lakes this house was perfect for our two families looking for a quick vacation before school started. The house had everything we could have needed, especially in the kitchen. We routinely rent houses and have never seen such a well appointed kitchen. The house overall is very comfortable and well laid out. The two larger beds downstairs were very comfortable, the one on the main floor was a little too firm for our liking, but with so many sleeping options was not a problem for us. The location of the house was great. Very quiet and as mentioned above perfect location for families looking to enjoy both lakes or China Peak. The house was very clean and there was sufficient furniture for hosting the eight of us; could definitely hold another family of four. The only issue were had, albiet minor, was it appears that the grill hasn't been cleaned in awhile. It was hard keeping the flame deflectors from catching fire. We did a quick wipe down after the first use, but it really should be taken apart and deep cleaned. Overall, we would definitely stay in this house again, we're hoping that it is available in the winter.

Ski Week
This property was perfect for my family ski week. The 6 adults and 5 teenagers fit into this cabin perfectly. There was plenty of hang out space, the kitchen table was able to accommodate all of us. Great little neighborhood that the teenagers could go explore and sled when we weren't on the China Peak slopes. Great rental and we will return!
