"Really enjoyed my weekend at this peaceful, semi-rural (but within 20 minutes walk of El Escorial train station and 40 minutes uphill to magnificent San Lorenzo de El Escorial) B&B. As in a typical B&B the rooms are simple but very well maintained and the grounds very relaxing, especially round the swimming pool area. "A good stay but it would have been better if the bar was open, not just at weekends and there was an option for the evening meal (which was OK but only just). The evening meal was "almost cold" seafood soup followed by "warm" salmon. No choice. We weren't even told about it. "Our room in this hotel was excellent : comfortable bed, clean bathroom, sufficient plugs. We had an excellent night, but be warned - establishments serving evening meals are rare. It may be the season, but this hotel did not serve after 6pm, nor did other hotels close by. Parking is offered at a hotel, which is quite a walk away, and the road is narrow. Outside parking, if you can get it, is to be paid for from 8.00 a.m. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful."
