A mixed bag experience
Overall, this rental home isn't the issue--it's a nicely renovated home. Quiet. Plenty of space for families, and dog friendly. It was also 20 or so minutes to the Vegas strip, which we drove to multiple times to meet friends who had a hotel room there. That was an easygoing experience. But working with the host was not. I received no check in instructions until roughly an hour before my designated check in time, and only because VRBO had reached out to her 3 times--after I'd attempted to reach out twice. Finally, I received the code to allow me into the home. There are no instructions or a guide as to what is in the house--and that includes no wifi or internet. I did reach out to the host to ask about that, but she never replied back to me. Also, there is an occupant who is living in the attached garage, and that was not disclosed in the description of the home on VRBO's site. It went fine, and there is no access from the garage into the main part of the house, but it was still a little disconcerting. It's not a big deal. I've stayed in VRBOs that are mother-in-law suites that are attached to homes, but they are listed as such so I was made aware of it up front. I think the biggest issue is the lack of communication, period. When we checked out, we had no check out instructions, so I had to wing it by guessing what the host would find acceptable. It was disorganized and the worst experience I've had in my 12 years with using VRBO.
